Smartphone Bans and Disinformation

Enrique Dans's Medium article argues that banning smartphones in schools is counterproductive in combating disinformation. He contends that instead of banning technology, schools should integrate smartphones into the curriculum to teach critical thinking and responsible information consumption.  Dans highlights the World Economic Forum's identification of disinformation as a major global risk and emphasizes the need for education to equip students with the skills to navigate the digital world effectively. The author believes that a lack of digital literacy, not technology itself, is the problem. Ultimately, he advocates for a proactive approach that uses technology to teach students about it, rather than avoiding the issue.
