Henry Howard on Bouncing Back From Injury, Ultra Training Tips, and Mindset Shifts to Progress as an Athlete

02 Jun 2023

Description

Imagine having to undergo emergency surgery days before your first 100K race. It sounds like something that would be scary to come back from, but our guest today not only had that happen to him, but he also came back stronger than ever as he ended up finishing that same 100K a year later, qualified for Boston twice, and finished three 100 milers. This episode breaks down how he did it. Henry Howard is an ultrarunner, endurance coach, and content creator with Runspirited. He has completed numerous ultramarathons, and he helps endurance athletes reach their own goals and finish races as well.  In this episode, Henry shares how he was able to bounce back stronger than ever from emergency surgery, his key principles on training for an ultramarathon, and mindset shifts he uses in his own training and racing to help him perform well on the trail. Huge thank you to Henry for coming on the show!
