Sophie Dushko - Galatea 2.0

Sophie Dushko writes, directs, dances, acts, and cultivates art with ambition and potency. She joins us on the pod to share her visual and conceptual approach to pushing her ideas into existence. She's naturally tenacious and shares with us her spirited take on the importance of community and recognizing positive forces in one's creative life. Most importantly, we talk about the play she's working on now, Galatea 2.0. Written by Sophie between 2019 and 2021, workshopped with Invulnerable Nothings in 2022, this play is an exploration on objectification using the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea from Ovid. We touch on the myriad of questions and subjects audiences can expect to be faced with when seeing this play.
