As one of the largest nature reserves in the world, measuring around half the size of Switzerland, Etosha National Park is located in northern Namibia. The name "Etosha" is rooted from the language of the Ovambo and means something like "big white place". It's a very fitting name: the Etosha pan is covered all over with a silvery-white salt-clay crust. The additional year-round sparse vegetation gives the pan its characteristic mystical coloring. Download the Exploradio app on Google Play (coming soon) or on iOS (currently free) to hear more about Namibia. The app also has a GPS-function to link the audio clips with monuments and other points of interest and if you prefer to read, you can find a long description on the app. For more information visit our website. www.audioguidenamibia.com Voice-Artist: Sylvie Sij Hashimwe Written by: David Ndayola Jeremia An Exploradio Audioguide Namibia Production
