Welcome back to Finance Fundamentals. This is the interview series, "The Business of Business." Today's guests is Ryan Roberts. Starting a business always felt like it was in the cards for Ryan. Watching his grandmother start her company at the age of 50, paired with his passion for building, solving problems and side hustles fueled him since he was young. After graduation, he packed up and moved to New York City to pursue his career at esteemed corporations including UBS, Thomson Reuters and Dun & Bradstreet. He was repeatedly promoted into new roles based on demonstrated success in executing strategy, optimizing revenue, and leading organizations through critical transitions. He has proven success in sales, account management, business development, and strategic planning. Today, he is the co-founder and CEO at Bustld.com, a wedding technology startup based in Charlotte, NC. His big picture vision, contagious energy and passion for solving any problem has enabled him to grow the company from pre-launch sales through a pandemic, and beyond. His insight enabled Bustld to pivot and launch LoveStream.io 6 weeks after COVID restrictions shut down weddings worldwide, and bring the company out on the other side with an even better vision for its future. In his free time, he loves watching Alabama football, drinking Italian wine and being with his family. Startup founders and leaders he most admires: Nick Saban, Steve Jobs, Gary Vaynerchuk, Barbara Corcoran Bustld was developed to be an all-encompassing digital wedding platform that fills in the gaps that currently exist in the industry. The platform utilizes a matching algorithm to match couples to wedding vendors, based on fit, not who pays the most — like a dating app for finding your perfect wedding vendors!
