Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Camouflage isn't just for the woods. It's for looking cool. Camerado makes gear that disappears in nature, but looks good at Costco. Zero tactical cringe. Camerado. C-A-M-O-R-A-D-O.com. Welcome to American Crossfire, connecting faith, freedom, and firearms with Ryan. And Dalton. And as always, thank you to the Firearms Radio Network. And thank you for being here this week. I'm sorry.
The camera had moved a little bit. Um, so also I just want to say before we get started, thank you to Dusky. Um, Dusky gave us, uh, sent us $30 on locals. Oh my goodness. Yeah. So Dusky's a real one. He's, he's an awesome supporter. Uh, he supports everybody. He is in every chat. He'll be here in a little bit. Um, but we really do appreciate it.
Now, over the past few weeks, you have heard me talking about March for the second in Georgia, going to the Capitol. And so this week I brought on a special guest, Chuck Turney, correct? Turney, yes. Yeah, Turney. And he is a board member for GA2A. He's got an awesome history. He is a Marine. Thank you for your service. We really do appreciate that.
I know that people don't say that a whole lot anymore. But thank you. People say it all the time. I never know quite how to take it. It was honestly my pleasure. It was it's the I mean, it's it's all I ever wanted to do. So, yeah. Yeah. Now you retired from the Marine Corps, right? Yes, I did retire from the Marine Corps.
However, I am actually still working for the Marine Corps just as a civil service employee now. Same job, better pay. Oh, I bet. Yeah. It always is. Yeah. I was going through like your bio on, on GA two A's website and, um, you went to work for the air force after and, and. Yeah. I spent a couple of years working as a contractor for the air force after I retired.

Chapter 2: Who is Chuck Turney and what is his background?
And, uh, it was just, uh, it wasn't the same. Uh, uh, it's, uh, you know, the air force and the Marine Corps, obviously completely different worlds. And, uh, I found a way to get back home again and haven't been having any withdrawal symptoms since. Yeah. Well, if you're in Yuma, is that the Marine Air Force or Air Base? Yeah. Yuma, Arizona is a Marine Corps air station. Yes. Okay. Yep.
All right. Yeah. It's, it's so crazy when you look at the military about how there's crossover of different types of vehicles and stuff in different, it's, it's so, it blows my mind sometimes. Yeah. The Marine Corps is, is unique in that it's really a one-stop shop. We have our own, our own air, uh, forces. We have our own, uh, waterborne forces.
Of course, we hitch rides from the Navy and the Air Force all the time. We've got our own amphibious landing craft and things like that. We've got arguably the best close air ground support that you can find because the guys flying the planes are Marines also. So, you know, every Marine is, you know, one of our things is every Marine is a basic rifleman.
So the guy in the plane that's providing that air ground support is amazing. you know, he's thinking about the guys down there cause he's been there. So, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
Um, so just getting into, and another reason that I wanted to kind of go through some of your history too, is because when you go looking for GA to a board members, like there's the bio, but there's not a lot of information, uh, in the background of GA2A.
And I know that's not why y'all are on the board, but I do think it's good to point out the people that are running the organization that's trying to help our Second Amendment rights. We have a pretty diverse board of directors, all different backgrounds, all different experiences. And I think that's one of our strengths is because, you know, we're We all have different history.
We have different ways that we look at the Second Amendment, different ways that we look at, you know, constitutional rights, things like that. And we play that off of each other and it helps us, you know, build a common battle plan, so to speak, for how we're going to protect the second. Yeah.
And so after the Marine Corps, you were also on the committee for Ducks Unlimited, the Wild Turkey Federation and the Friends of the NRA. Yeah, I've been involved in all of those. I've always been a hunter and I've always been a Second Amendment advocate.
And I don't know, when I get passionate about things, I tend to put myself into those things to try and make a difference and help things along. Now is the, the gun that you wanted the first wild game dinner. Was that a wild Turkey Federation gun? Um, 2009. Yeah. He won. He won in one of the, what was it? Uh, two 70 short mag. Yeah. a gun that you can't find ammo for right anymore. Trust me.
