Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?
Camouflage isn't just for the woods. It's for looking cool. Camerado makes gear that disappears in nature but looks good at Costco. Zero tactical cringe. Camerado. C-A-M-O-R-A-D-O dot com. And this episode of We Like Shooting is brought to you by C&G Holsters, Midwest Industries, Primary Arms, Night Fish, and Blue Alpha Mitchell Defense. Bowers Group, Swamp Fox Optics.
And we have a guest, Napa Rooster. Shut the fuck up. It's in the section. It's in the section. Welcome to We Like Shooting. As you heard Savage say, this is episode 650. We're happy to be here. We've got our normal cast, Savage 1R taking on the news. We've got Nick taking it on the chin, but also running with the bus-built systems.
We've got Jeremy Posderek from River's Edge Tactical in Valley City, Ohio. My name's Sean Heron. I'm going to be here with you hanging out, having fun, and we have a good friend of ours, a guest, and we've missed you very much, Matt LaRose here. How's it going? Hello. It's good to have you. Nailed it. Nailed it. Yeah, you guys never invite me anymore.
I heard it was because of the incident last time. I was just about to ask what the incident was, and then I was like, never mind, I don't care. I don't remember it. Yeah, I must have blocked it out. It couldn't have been that good. But yeah, how's it going, man? Just regular. Nothing abnormal is happening. Nothing different out of your normal everyday life going on? Yeah, it's just my usual.
All right, well, we're going to talk about your usual life here in just a minute. Before we do, let's talk about Midwest Industries. I don't think Midwest Industries makes anything for those French guns that might... Yeah, I don't think they make anything I give a remote shit about. They make some AK stuff. Do you like AKs?
I don't like it when companies like that try to make them something they're not and make it so your thumb gets all hot when you try to shoot them. Oh, we were just talking about... God, who was it? Black Green Ordinance is making American-made AKs. I was like... As I was thinking about it, I was like, AK people are not going to like this. Because A, it's like $2,800. And B, I mean, it looks cool.
That's the opposite of what AK guys like. Yep. Yeah, I don't like anything that you would think looks cool. Yeah, yeah. I like iron sight. I like the wooden steel. I know. The big iron. I know, it's great. It's okay for AKs to just be kind of bad. I... There is something to be said about the older AKs. Here's what I really like, and my MP5 is like this.
I like part of the furniture to be wood and part of it to be modern with M-LOK slots. So I think that's the ideal AK. Don't you have that MP5 handguard with the integrated little slots? Like it's wood with the slots? No, I don't have that one. So mine is the wood MP5 stock and then an M-LOK...
midwest industries hand guard and man it looks so hot if you had the wood amlock hand guard that would that would be pretty metal even i would think that was cool the wooks i don't know whatever yeah i don't know who makes that but yes that would that would also be badass like that uh modern ppsh which is i think one of the rugers or something but yeah

Chapter 2: What are the implications of California's lawsuit against Matt?
I'm not going to lie. Sure. But, but you know, We're in it to win it, man. I've already had all the discussions that you can imagine where it's like, oh, well, what would you think about a settlement, right? I'm like, nope. Is it $7.8? Dude, I am... No, because that would... Dude, if it was a penny... you would still be agreeing that they could do this to somebody else. Agreed.
So the thing that I'm like... the thing that I'm really scratching my head over is that there's like actual people that, and I'm not saying there's anything principally wrong with this. Right. But there's actual people that are out there just like, you know, distributing auto Sears and shit. Right. Yeah. But like who definitely are not practicing gun rights attorneys.
Um, but they go after me and my friends and it's like, what's my biggest, my biggest contribution to DIY firearms is, Well, there you go. My biggest contribution to DRA Firearms is a single-shot Survival .22. Hitchhiker? Yeah, the Hitchhiker. It's very popular. A lot of kits have gone out. So I know there's more than 1,000 out there. which I'm pretty proud of. About 2,000, I think, so far.
I designed the gun. It's impossible for it to fire more than one shot. That's who they're going after. It seems just kind of silly. I'm going to be able to point to that. I don't know. I think, but for their whole you know, you can't do anything. You're not allowed to do anything without permission. I feel like my gun would be California illegal. Cause it's a single shot. Right. God.
It's so, so fucking annoying, man. When I saw this, I was like, what? Yeah. It's like me too. I was like, I was like, that's what you're doing. Right. Like, all this buildup and it's quick at least giving me a honey pot or something. Right. Yeah. Like entrap me into something like, God damn. Like a punji pit. I don't know. Yeah.
We got fucking Matt going to California prison before we get GTA six. Fucking this is bullshit. Yeah. So it's, uh, it's wild, but, um, but you know, but so yeah, I, I'm feeling pretty good about it. We've got really smart people and like, you know, a bunch of people stepped up to help. It was like, really want to, you know, shout out to Kostas and Alan Beck and Mark Penick.
Those guys were like there, you know, right away. There's a lot of, don't be too sorry for me. This is blood sport. Yeah. On the one hand, I was like, man, this fucking sucks. Matt's a good dude. Doesn't deserve this. On the other hand, I was like, I don't think they really fucking understand what they've done. Yeah. It's a, you know, they'll get me wrong.
It's stressful, but I'm like, you know, it's kind of like one of those things where, you know, I sue the government all the time. So I'm like, they did this.

Chapter 3: How does California's new law affect gun rights?
I'm like, oh, all right. Some good food. Yeah. But is there any way you and the NRA can come out on top aside from just being not guilty on this one? Well, remember, this is a civil case, right? So there's no guilt. There's liability. Oh, sure. Okay. You stupid idiot. I know. I'm okay. You're so fucking dumb. Mr. Non-Lawyer over here.
Well, we've got one lawsuit pending now in the Middle District. There may be more coming, in which case, yes, they're liable for monetary damages and attorney's fees. So this is going to be serious fighting. It could be for $1.5 billion, kind of like the whole Alex Jones thing, except reversed. Maybe. I mean, this is the kind of thing that honestly could go to...
hopefully it doesn't I'll say, but like it could go to the Supreme court eventually, because I mean, it's, it's likely that a California judge will see, you know, California's way of doing things. And, you know, no matter how good of a, of an argument in a case you put on, find you guilty of, of these civil penalties. And then of course, then that would have to go liable. Yes. Thank you. Liable.
That's the word I was looking for. Stupid idiot. And then that would have to go, obviously, up through the ranks. But I could see you guys, and again, I hope it doesn't happen, but I could see you guys losing at several different levels and then eventually this going to the Supreme Court where they can just punt on it for the next five years. Yep.
Well, if it's the 9th, you know, you'll go to the circuit and then if you win, of course, because only the gun cases will get it, the en banc, because they can't have you possibly winning. Right. And then it'll go to the Supremes. And it's so fucking weird. The 9th is good at the First Amendment, though. The 9th Circuit. Yeah.
So if they want to allow this, they're going to have to do some weird, like, twister moves. Yeah. Like, they're going to have to be playing Twister and Bop It at the same time. Right. Twop It. Yeah. You know, it's... I think it's a really... I think we have the opportunity to make some really good law. And...
i'm not one to shy away from a fight so that neither are my my homies right they it's like usually you know because these people are bullies right that's what they are yes um and usually they pick on like the little small people um i guess i just don't know what they were thinking yeah well they saw that five dollars in your closed account and they were like okay we got this like that's the funniest thing is like
I mean, it's the state of California. They have the GDP of half of Europe. They didn't have the budget to actually check into whether they were suing a failed newsletter publisher. Right. And then that brings up another question that I was going to ask is this civil lawsuit has been filed pretty quickly after their law went into effect.
Do you think that the sloppiness or the apparent sloppiness of this is because they rushed it? Or wouldn't you think that they were preparing this like long in advance and would have had their T's crossed and their eyes dotted? If you look at the lawsuit itself. it's manifest from, and somebody on the CA guns read it, did a pretty good, um, a pretty good breakdown of it.

Chapter 4: What are the key points about the firearms discussed in this episode?
I stopped watching when he went to furry con or whatever it was. Oh, so you had kept watching. Wait a minute, wait a minute. Oh, yeah, I'm a casual viewer. Who turned into a furry? There's this guy who used to do actually really interesting reviews on, like, shit boxes. And then one day he just decided... It was him and his, like, I guess boyfriend or whatever would...
like, start doing these weird political shit and, like, poetry and things. And the whole channel just went sideways. And then there was the furry stuff. Whoa. It was just, like, it started as really good shit and then very quickly went into, oh, are you enjoying this? You need to think about yourself. Wow. So, Jesus Christ.
He's like an English major that writes this really ridiculous... He'll write these car reviews that are way over the top and really interesting and entertaining and sometimes pretty funny. The writing used to be so good. He did a review of the early 90s BMW 5 Series.
and like he would do these set pieces that were just so good like that you'd see the the five series pulling up and he's like this car inspires that feeling and it shows the car pulling up he's like oh god what did i do what did i do what did i do it's just like that was just premium and then yeah then he goes to the furry yeah yeah I'm a pretty casual viewer.
It's like, if I'm interested in what he put up, I'll watch it. And then, yeah, it just kept getting weirder and weirder. And then I saw that he was at like, it popped up as a recommendation and it was like some furry shit. And I was like, no, do you have any shit boxer cars like that? Do I? Yeah. Oh fuck. Yeah. What do you, what do you, what do you got? Uh, I have, uh,
Well, that's all I've ever owned. Are we talking about functioning cars that I drive? I've got an 85 CRX. Oh, very good. Yeah. I've got an 85 W123 diesel. I mean, that's pretty hipstery, but cool. I like the fact that it sounds like a tractor. Yeah. Diesels are pretty cool. A diesel car. I drove that thing to Detroit. Jesus. They're hard to find in the US.
I put 75 AK parts kits in it and drove it back. That's amazing. That sounds about right. From Detroit to Florida. Yeah. Yeah, that's crazy. The whole way. Click, click. matt's just out here living with nick's burn his whole life it's fucking terrible i feel better now now knowing that you have a crx it's like no he's way worse than me oh yeah oh man no i have all kinds of trash um same i had a uh
what a 98 b5 audi like audi um which we put a lift kit on well we made a lift kit for it yeah put some big tires on it and that was a ton of fun but it was a total piece of shit um Was Matt... I still have the heart scar for that. Is Matt's favorite car a clapped-out Altima? No, my favorite... Way too common. No, I am a GM guy.
So the two vehicles that I love to drive are the 85 diesel Mercedes, like straight African warlord Mercedes, and my 95 Chevy 1500... Because to me, like growing up, that was the work truck. And I'm like, it's just an honest ass truck. You just get shit done with this.

Chapter 5: What are the key features of the Nielsen Device Boosterless Silencer System?
Sorry, the first one was actually 33 bids. Okay, thanks. This one and the last one were 21 bids. Okay. Everyone ready? Yeah, are you guys ready?
Chapter 6: What are the implications of the ATF's new 'Engaged in the Business' rule?
Three, two, one. All right. Go. Let's see them. Jeremy says $600. And turkey guns.
Chapter 7: How does the New Mexico House Bill 86 affect gun ownership?
Turkey guns. Savage says $800 and shotguns with camo patterns. I said that last time. Sean says $921.
Chapter 8: What are the recent controversies surrounding gun control in Canada?
And uncommon camo. Yeah, uncommon camo. And Matthew says $650. All right. Actual price was $1,225. What the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck? So let's see. Sean was $304 off, making him the closest. That's retarded. Yeah. I agree. Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty bad. Wow. All right, look at this. This right here, let me make sure I'm looking at the right one.
All right, this is a Benelli Super Black Eagle in 12 gauge. It's got a 24-inch barrel with Realtree camo. It's a 3.5-inch Magnum. It had 18 bids when the auction ended. It said it's in good used condition. The camo finish shows normal field wear in spots, but the metal and mechanics remain solid. So it's been used a little.
what an overall good shape uh this one is a camo pattern that's like uh you know trees and leaves and shit how many bids uh 18 can you run through the images that we've already seen again please Sure. We've got this one. Yep. We've got this one. Yep. We've got this one. Yep. And we've got this one. Okay. Hmm. Man.
very are you are you guys enjoying this are you having fun i'm so confused right now i know i just want to make sure everybody's having a good time you know oh yeah sure it's great i'm having a great time i'm gonna answer like three times now all right are you guys ready yes no yeah all right let's see him jeremy says 1200 semi-auto
Savage says 1,300 and shotguns photographed from the right side. I'm not wrong. Sean says 1,418. And semi-auto shotguns. Semi-auto shotguns. And then Matt says 1,800s. Guns that never actually hunted. Oh, yeah. That's pretty good. They're all from a single episode of a reunion episode of... MacGyver. Welcome back, Connor. No, it was actually a clip show, so you're wrong, Paget.
This sold for $1,425. Oh, shit. So Sean was $7 off. God damn it. Which means that we had Savage with one point, Jeremy with one point, Sean with one point. Now Sean has edged Savage and Jeremy picked up a second point. Sean, what is your ethnic background? I'd like to call you a slur. French. Oh, that's too easy. You fucking frog. God damn it. What is the fucking theme? All right.
This is a Remington Versamax camo in 12 gauge. It's a three and a half inch chamber. It's got a 26 inch barrel, 25 bids. So it's got about 98% of its metal finish with a little bit of wear on the internal components. What model? Versamax. Versamax. But it says it's in excellent condition. So, yeah, another 12-gauge semi-auto hunting gun. Wait, these are semi-auto, right? Yeah.
Yeah, 26-inch barrel. Once again, it's got some camo. This time it's like little sticks and shit. What were the lengths of the previous barrels? 26, 24. Nevermind. This one's 28. The first one was 28. I'm going to, can you show me the pictures one more time? Sorry. Okay. This is the last time though. Okay. Show me your wiener. There's that one. There's that one. There's that one.
There's that one. Fuck. That helped. Not at all. All right. Thanks. Good. How many bids on this one? Sorry, I missed it. 25. VersaMax, huh? All right. I'm ready. Is everybody else ready?
