Lucas Stauffer is an American born professional soccer player who has traveled the world playing the beautiful game. He's found success both domestically and abroad, and has challenged himself to find opportunities to grow himself both on and off the field. At a very early age he was tested in Holland and Denmark, an experience that really opened his eyes to the levels around the world. Lucas also enjoyed a fruitful career at Creighton University, before being taken 26th overall in the MLS draft by the Vancouver Whitecaps. Most recently he's spent time at the historically massive Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany and at the Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship. We spoke about going abroad at a young age, proving yourself in trials and in preseasons, reaching out to clubs, Regionalliga and USL Championship comparisons, the importance of good relationships in the game, time without clubs, consistently being overlooked but always showing his worth, and how proper preparation is something he prides himself on.
