Chapter 1: What are the latest developments in the Iran conflict?
It's now a 19th day of the epic fury targeting Iran. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News and White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt tells Fox. We've now actually struck more than 7,800 targets. More than 120 Iranian naval ships are at the bottom of the ocean, have been sunk. Fox's Lucas Tomlinson reports from Dubai. U.S. Central Command announcing its efforts to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. jets dropping these massive multiple GBU-72 bunker-busting 5,000-pound deep penetrator bombs on reinforced Iranian missile sites along Iran's coastline. And Israel keeps attacking as well, killing a third senior Iran leader in two days. The Minister of Intelligence in Iran has been retaliating by launching more missiles into Israel, killing two civilians.
Iran also attacked a natural gas facility in Qatar. Oil prices have been rising this morning. Stocks have been falling after an unexpected rise in wholesale inflation last month. A check of prices before the Iran conflict. And now to the Senate. We have to get DHS funded. We have to. That's Mark Wayne Mullen at the start of his confirmation hearing.
He's a Republican senator and also the nominee to take over as the Homeland Security Secretary. We have to set the partisan side down. And we have to realize that... We're putting our homeland and the peace of mind at risk for the American people. Funding has been held up as Democrats demand immigration enforcement reform, and most of the agency is unfunded, so TSA agents are not being paid.
That has led to long airport security lines because some agents are skipping work. Angela Grana is an agent in Colorado and a union VP and just told Fox... You protect and serve your nation, the traveling public. And we feel forgotten.

Chapter 2: How is the U.S. responding to the Iranian missile attacks?
We feel completely forgotten. America's listening to Fox News. This is Ainsley Earhart. Thank you for joining me for the 52-episode podcast series, The Life of Jesus. A listening experience that will provide hope, comfort, and understanding of the greatest story ever told. Listen and follow now at foxnewspodcasts.com or wherever you listen to podcasts. We mentioned the stock market selling.
The Dow is down 235 points. The Nasdaq's dropping only 60. The S&P 500 losing 21 points. And while oil prices are on the rise again today, the price of the gas pump is a nickel higher. AAA's national average for regular, $3.84 a gallon. That is 86 cents higher than before the Iran conflict. Now to the inflation update we got this morning.
Wholesale inflation came in much hotter than expected in February. Analysts were forecasting a three-tenths jump, but the producer price index showing costs rose seven-tenths of a percent, and that was before the unrest in the Middle East. Fox's Frank Lanza, the annual rate of wholesale inflation was also more than expected last month, rising to 3.4 percent, a half point higher than January.
Later today, we'll hear from the Federal Reserve, and it likely won't be what President Trump wants to hear. He posted on Truth Social, when is Chairman Jerome Powell going to lower interest rates? The president doesn't think the three rate cuts last year were enough.
The central bank will make its second interest rate announcement of the year, and it's widely expected that the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged at a range of 3.5% to 3.75%. Analysts are forecasting that the Fed will adopt a cautious wait-and-see approach to monitor potential oil market disruptions and their economic impact due to the Iranian conflict.
However, they still believe the Fed will slash rates, but not until October or December. Some even anticipate that the war will cause the central bank to leave its rate untouched all year. Hillary Barsky, Fox News.

Chapter 3: What impact is the Iran conflict having on global oil prices?
They're celebrating a championship in Venezuela after they won the World Baseball Classic, beating Team USA. Into left center field, headed for the gap, and Venezuela has retaken the lead. Eugenio Suarez, just like that. That was in the top of the ninth inning on Fox after the U.S. had tied the game in the eighth, and Venezuela hung on to beat the Americans 3-2 to win the WBC title.
