More strikes in the Middle East. I'm Angelo Bavaro, Fox News. A new drone attack on a Dubai airport killed one person and a skyscraper was also attacked. All this after Iran's president claimed it would stop firing on its neighbors unless attacked first. Over 40% of Iran's missiles and drones have been launched at this country. That's twice the number that have been launched at Israel.
The skyscraper here in Dubai, 23 Marina, was hit by falling debris after a drone was blasted out of the sky. The Dubai media office says debris fell onto a car, killing a Pakistani driver inside. And this morning, a drone also managed to slip through Emirati's air defense systems and hit the Dubai airport, shutting down operations for a short time.
And over 1,200 Iranian drones and missiles have been launched at this country, over 92 percent intercepted. Fox's Lucas Tomlinson. A ceremony this afternoon for six American troops killed in the Iranian drone attack last weekend. A dignified transfer took them from the Middle East to Delaware's Dover Air Force Base. President Trump was there.
He honored those six fallen heroes and paid respects to them along with the vice president and other cabinet members. Some of the families were there as well to meet with the president. Fox's Stephanie Bennett is in London with a possible answer involving a UK aircraft carrier getting ready for deployment. HMS Prince of Wales is currently in Portsmouth, with UK news outlets suggesting it could sail to the Mediterranean or the Middle East. The crew reportedly has been told, quote, they must be ready to leave in five days.
Meanwhile, the UK Ministry of Defense says the United States has started using British bases for specific defense operations to prevent Iran firing missiles into the region. Starting last night into today, several American B-1 bombers could be seen landing at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
In addition, RAF Typhoon and F-35 jets have continued their operations over in Jordan, Qatar and Cyprus and the wider region in defense of British interests and allies. But President Trump posting online that the U.S. does not need the U.K. any longer, writing, quote, But we will remember we do not need people that join wars after we've already won.
