Chapter 1: What is Operation Epic Fury and its objectives?
We're about to hear from President Trump. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. We'll speak from the White House in a minute now on day three of Operation Epic Fury. The most lethal, most complex, and most precise aerial operation in history. And war. Secretary Pete Hegseth said this morning, this won't be like Iraq, this isn't nation building. This operation is a clear, devastating, decisive mission.
Destroy the missile threat, destroy the Navy, no nukes. And Hegseth adds, as Iran fights back, hitting Israel and targeting American facilities in the Middle East. War is hell. always will be. A grateful nation honors the four Americans we have lost thus far and those injured. Iran's supreme leader has also been killed, along with 48 other senior officials.
Fox's Brett Baier just talked to President Trump. He is pleased, does believe that this is going faster than they thought, and he believes that four weeks is something that they had put as a kind of calendar of what they were looking at.
Chapter 2: What are the implications of the conflict with Iran?
The president is getting support from a lot of Republicans in Congress and pushback from Democrats. Senator Jeanne Shaheen tells Fox... The question is, what is the strategy? The president has not been clear with the American people. He's not been clear with Congress on what his ultimate goals are.
Some congressional leaders will get a private briefing with Secretary of State Marco Rubio later today. Then more lawmakers get briefings tomorrow. some pushing a war powers resolution and wanting to limit the president's actions. Israel is also striking Iran, which keeps retaliating, firing missiles into Israel. Some, but not all, were shot down.
At least nine Israelis have been killed, more wounded. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site of a missile strike. If they get nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, Ballistic missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, they will threaten all of humanity. Hezbollah has also fired rockets from Lebanon.
Chapter 3: How is President Trump responding to the situation?
Israel has retaliated, killing at least 30 militants. The State Department has a worldwide caution alert for Americans everywhere. Some U.S. embassies have been evacuated. Army Master Sergeant Roddy Edmonds was held in a German POW camp during World War II. and refused to identify Jewish American soldiers, likely saving 200 Jewish service members. Staff Sergeant Terry Richardson is being honored for leading a platoon and directing airstrikes in Vietnam in 1968, credited with saving 85 fellow soldiers.
Army Staff Sergeant Michael Aulis will receive the Medal of Honor for his bravery during an attack on a forward operating base in Afghanistan in 2013, fiddly putting himself between a fellow soldier and a suicide bomber.
Chapter 4: What are the recent developments in the Israel-Iran conflict?
At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News. The FBI is still investigating a deadly shooting in Austin, Texas, hours after the U.S. military started attacking Iran. But it appears on the face of it to be terrorism. Republican Senator Ted Cruz from Texas tells Fox the gunman a naturalized citizen from Senegal was... Wearing a sweater that said property of Allah.
He was wearing a shirt with an Iranian flag on it. There was a Koran in the car. He shot and killed two people and wounded 14 others outside a bar in Austin early yesterday. Then police shot and killed him. There was another weekend shooting in Cincinnati, Ohio. Five to 600 people were inside Riverfront Live, a 16 and up music venue.
A suspect apparently entered a side door and began shooting, hurting nine people. They did not stop shooting, I feel like, until every bullet was out of that gun. I was lucky.
Chapter 5: What details emerged from the Austin shooting incident?
I could have bled out in that parking lot. These witnesses describe lax security, saying there were numerous fights at the venue and people angry over parking and ticket prices, with city leaders not appearing to be surprised by the nightclub violence. Right now, no suspects. Cops haven't said whether or not the shooting was gang-related. Jeff Manasso, Fox News.
