Since it's a successful mission so far, I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. U.S. Central Command taking to social media, giving an update on Operation Epic Fury against Iran. Fox's Colonel Scott with more. Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM's commander, posted an update on X to say U.S. and Israeli forces are taking out Iran's strikeback capabilities.
By the numbers, they've hit 17 Iranian ships, including the most operational Iranian submarine that now has a hole in its side. They've also targeted missile facilities toward the goal, as Admiral Cooper said, shooting all the things that can shoot at us. The admiral said the effort is literally just beginning.
President Trump has not put an end date on the action in Iran so far and has indicated there will be an escalation in the assault on several targets. Grinnell Scott, Fox News. Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefing lawmakers today on the U.S. 's ongoing strikes in Iran as Democrats consider a measure to restrict President Trump's war powers. Now, the House is set to vote on a war powers resolution for Iran later this week, likely on Thursday. Democrats say President Trump's bombing of Iran without congressional approval is illegal. But back when President Obama was in office, then House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Obama didn't need Congress's approval to bomb Libya.
We asked current House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries about that. Libya and the circumstances connected to that were very different than the circumstance that we face in Iran right now. We did reach out to Congresswoman Pelosi's office about her prior position on Libya.
They told us there is a big distinction between Libya, which they say was a limited operation, and Iran, which they describe as a, quote, escalating war. Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman says he'll vote against the resolution. Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty says it'll undermine the mission. America's listening to Fox News.
