President Trump has dumped Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in the first cabinet change of his second term after a turbulent year in his immigration crackdown. Chapter 2: Why was Kristi Noem removed as Homeland Security Secretary?

24.505 - 43.266

And we made clear what was going to happen. Fox's Jared Halpern's got more. President Trump says he is replacing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with Oklahoma Senator Mark Wayne Mullen. A source tells Fox the decision to remove Noem was a combination of her many unfortunate leadership failures.

43.686 - 66.37

Just this week, Noem faced criticism from Republican lawmakers over a more than $200 million ad campaign featuring Noem. She told a Senate panel the president approved the ads. President Trump told Reuters he did not sign off on it. Noem has also been criticized for her management of immigration surges in Minnesota following the shooting deaths of Alex Preti and Renee Good.

President Trump nominating Senator Mark Wayne Mullen of Oklahoma to replace Noem. The Senate must confirm Mullen, but Fox's Chad Pergram says it's unclear if Democrats will support him. John Fetterman, the Democratic senator from Pennsylvania, indicates that he would vote yes, even though he thought a lot of fellow Democrats would vote no.

I pressed Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader here in the House. He said we want to kind of, you know, see how this plays out. But the other thing I then followed up on. was does this make a difference in the Homeland Security Department shutdown over ICE? At some point, Jeffries had said, you know, that we need to have a personnel change.

And he said, OK, we do have a personnel change now, but that personnel change is not sufficient. He said he still needs to see these policy changes with ICE. Jeffries adding ICE agents must conduct themselves like other law enforcement agents in the U.S. and stop brutalizing and killing Americans. America's listening to Fox News. This is Ainsley Earhart.

125.08 - 141.78

A listening experience that will provide hope, comfort, and understanding of the greatest story ever told. Listen and follow now at foxnewspodcasts.com or wherever you listen to podcasts. Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzalez is not going to run for re-election in November's midterm elections.

141.88 - 153.978

The Texas GOP lawmaker made the announcement in a statement released Thursday night while assuring he will serve out the remainder of his term. It comes just over a day after Congressman Gonzalez admitted to having an affair with a staffer who died by suicide in September of last year.

154.479 - 175.95

The House Ethics Committee was investigating Gonzalez to determine whether he engaged in sexual misconduct with an employee. The Pentagon says Iran is embellishing its progress in Operation Epic Fury. Fox's Jennifer Griffin explains. U.S. Central Command put out the following tweet this morning after the Iranians claimed to have shot down an American F-15 strike eagle.

175.99 - 197.041

Quote, rumors circulating on social media of a U.S. F-15E crash in Iran early Wednesday are baseless and not true. The battle plan that you are seeing play out with U.S. forces systematically striking Iran Iranian targets to take out the military headquarters, command and control, and Iranian Navy has been years, if not at least a decade, in the making.

197.402 - 216.45

Iran has built large underground sites to store and launch their ballistic missiles from. The U.S. military has the ability now to destroy these vast underground missile cities, if you will. Secretary of War Pete Hegshead said the conflict has been historic. The Department of Homeland Security is still not funded, regardless of who's leading the agency.

216.49 - 224.739

After funding expired last month for a third time, Senate Democrats have blocked the spending bill because it did not include changes to President Trump's immigration enforcement effort.

225.079 - 246.842

Even though four Democrats in the House of Representatives crossed the aisle Thursday and voted with Republicans to restore funding to the agency, the DHS has now been without full funding since Valentine's Day, which of course was February 14th. U.S. stocks fell sharply as rising oil prices fueled by the escalating conflict with Iran sparked concerns about renewed inflation on Thursday.

247.343 - 267.148

Stock futures, though, this morning have turned positive. I'm Ted Linder, and this is Fox. Join Fox in supporting our troops. From daily needs to global emergencies, help us be there for those who serve. Visit go.fox slash Red Cross to donate to service to the armed forces today.
