Chapter 1: What progress is President Trump claiming regarding the war with Iran?

3.001 - 21.305

The president says they're making progress. I'm Ted Lindner, Fox News. President Trump talking to reporters Monday at the Republican Members Issues Conference in Doral, Florida, answering questions about Operation Epic Fury. One reporter asking him how many American deaths he'll allow in the war with Iran. He told her those troops killed are just the cost of war.

When you have conflicts like this, you always have death. And I was at Dover yesterday. I met the parents and they were unbelievable people. They were unbelievable people, but they all had one thing in common. They said to me one thing, every single one.

Chapter 2: How does President Trump justify American casualties in the conflict?

35.907 - 57.97

Finish the job, sir. Please finish the job. With more on the president's remarks from Doral on Monday, Fox's Kristen Goodwin. President Trump says the war with Iran will end soon, but he won't let Iran hold the world hostage over oil. We're very proud to be involved in this and it's going to be ended soon. And if it starts up again, there'll be. They'll be hit even harder.

Also addressing Iran's choice for a new supreme leader. We think it's going to lead to just more of the same problem for the country, so I was disappointed to see their choice. Noting the U.S. will waive certain oil-related sanctions and the American Navy will escort ships in the Strait of Hormuz if needed. Also revealing another 100 million barrels of oil are coming to the U.S.

from Venezuela and explaining Cuba will make an economic deal with the U.S. or, quote, we're going to do it just as easy. Kristen Goodwin. Australia will give five Iranian women soccer players visas. They're offering to let any of the team's players stay there instead of returning to Iran.

This team was labeled as traitors on Iranian TV after players stood silent during a national anthem before one of their games last week during the Asian Cup tournament. President Trump had pushed for asylum for the players. And oil prices make it a decisive U-turn Monday after the president told a reporter the Iran war could be over soon. Prices swung more than $25 in a matter of hours.

The day began with oil prices briefly trading near $120 a barrel. America's listening to Fox News. This is Ainsley Earhart. The spy calls from President Trump to show some guts. The Strait of Hormuz remains empty as fighting rages on in the Middle East. Fox Business' Lauren Simonetti with more. Kepler tracking data shows just one vessel crossing the Strait of Hormuz with its transponder on in the past 24 hours, and that vessel wasn't carrying oil.

155.108 - 169.588

On a typical day, the Strait would be buzzing with vessels, even empty oil tankers they load and send back. Now that is paralyzed, according to the head oil analyst at Kepler, Matt Smith. It's not just the fact that those tankers cannot leave the Mid-East Gulf.

Chapter 3: What are the implications of Iran's new supreme leader on U.S. relations?

169.608 - 190.603

It's the fact that you cannot get ballast, empty tankers in to load any more crude. And while Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar have cut production to the tune of at least six million barrels a day, oil is trading below its highs on optimism that global reserves will be tapped. In Englewood, New Jersey, Laurence Simonetti, Fox Business.

190.583 - 210.665

President Trump says he does not want to sign anything else before passing the Save America Act, the voter integrity legislation requiring photo identification, proving U.S. citizenship at election polls. Fox's Chad Pergram is in Capitol Hill with more on what it would take to get the bill passed. This would sidetrack virtually everything else in the Senate.

0

210.845 - 232.693

Keep in mind that you can pass something in the Senate and the House of Representatives and send it to the president. And it can become law even if he doesn't sign it within 10 days, Sundays excluded. So maybe they could get the DHS funding deal done that way. But there's no impetus to get there right now. He is putting all of his eggs in one basket. on trying to pass the Save America Act.

232.874 - 253.038

And they have to get this through the Senate. They would have to clear a filibuster. That takes 60 votes. But there's a coalition of some Senate conservatives who say, let's make Democrats get up and filibuster the old-fashioned way. Democrats have pushed back against the bill. Senate Minority Leader, New York Democrat Chuck Schumer, says the bill would disenfranchise tens of millions of people.
