Chapter 1: What peace talks is Vice President J.D. Vance leading in Pakistan?
The Vice President talking peace. I'm Ted Lindner, Fox News. The White House confirming that Vice President J.D. Vance will lead peace talks in Pakistan. This is Trump administration officials defending President Trump's recent social media posts threatening Iran. Fox's Peter Doocy with the latest for us from the White House.
Officials here are making no apologies. There's no second thoughts about the president's very, very strong language yesterday where he was talking about ending Iran as a civilization. They believe here, based on the ceasefire that has started, has been announced, that the tough rhetoric is the reason the Iranians have agreed to a ceasefire, at least in principle.
And so they like the way that things are going here. They are still just trying to figure out how to marry up a 15-point White House proposal with a 10-point Iranian proposal.
Chapter 2: How is the Trump administration responding to Iran's ceasefire?
And with NATO allies like these, who needs frenemies? That has been the president's take based on the lack of NATO support during Operation Epic Fury. NATO Secretary General Mark Ruda meeting with President Trump at the White House Wednesday after the Trump administration promised to re-examine its relationship with the NATO alliance.
Brutus travels to Washington, of course, coming amid fierce criticism from the commander in chief about the relevance, reliability and even the cost of the NATO alliance. In fact, he said as much in a quip on Truth Social writing, NATO wasn't there when we needed them and they won't be there if we need them again. Remember Greenland, that big, poorly run piece of ice?
Now, discussions were expected to focus on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The president could, of course, choose to withdraw the U.S. from the collective, which would fly in the face of a law passed by Congress just a couple of years ago.
That's Fox's Kevin Cork in Washington. Oil prices fell below $95 a barrel as global markets surged on the ceasefire announcement. America's listening to Fox News. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi no longer expected to testify for House investigators next week. Fox's Jared Halpern with more.
Before her ouster last week, former Attorney General Pam Bondi was scheduled for a deposition with the House Oversight Committee on April 14th. Her testimony is tied to the panel's investigation into the Justice Department's handling of the case against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
But a spokesperson for the Oversight Committee says Bondi will not appear because she was subpoenaed in her capacity as Attorney General. but adds the committee will contact Bondi's personal counsel to discuss next steps regarding scheduling her deposition.
Top committee Democrat Robert Garcia says the subpoena issued is still binding in that if Bondi defies it, Democrats will begin contempt charges. At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News.
Emergency crews are conducting search and rescue operations following a partial collapse of a parking garage in Philadelphia. Wednesday afternoon, the seven-story building was under construction when part of it fell. Police say at least one person is dead, two people are missing.
Fire Commissioner Jeffrey Thompson says the search would be a protracted operation as crews first needed to stabilize the structure. Artemis 2 and its crew have conducted a historic lunar flyby on Monday afternoon, traveling further from Earth than any human in space, surpassing Apollo 13's mission in 1970.
