Muhammad Jalloh opened fire at Old Dominion University last week, killing Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shaw and injuring two others. Jalloh's family has now released a statement saying this tragedy has deeply shaken them, that they unequivocally condemn this act of violence, that it's contrary to their faith and that they reject extremism in all forms, adding they do not know what led to this.

Jell-O, a former Virginia National Guard member, spent more than seven years in prison after pleading guilty to providing material support to ISIS. He was released from prison in December of 2024 and had been living with family members in Virginia.
