Chapter 1: What recent events have escalated tensions in the Middle East?
The war rages on. I'm Ted Lindner, Fox News. Iran continues striking its neighbors in the Middle East, many of America's Middle Eastern allies, after the United States attacked Iranian military installations on Karg Island this weekend. Fox's Nate Foy with the latest for us this morning in Operation Epic Fury. A high-profile hotel in Baghdad got hit by an Iranian drone.
It hit the top floor of the Al Rashid Hotel, causing a fire in Iraq's green zone. This is after the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad got hit over the weekend. Meanwhile, Iran continues hammering the United Arab Emirates. A drone caused flight disruptions at Dubai International Airport, while the U.S. is targeting Iran's ballistic missiles and the facilities that make more of them.
Central Command has now hit more than 7,000 targets during this war. And President Trump is pressuring countries that rely on the region's oil to help open the Strait of Hormuz. He thinks that's going to happen. Italy's prime minister declined to get involved in the president's efforts.
Chapter 2: How is the U.S. responding to Iranian aggression in the region?
Estonia's president asked for more information, and Spain's prime minister rejected the offer. President Trump says oil prices will come down after the conflict is over. President Trump can't say if Iran's new supreme leader is alive or dead. Fox's Jared Halpern. With the U.S.
and Israeli airstrikes into their third week, President Trump says there are people inside Iran's government willing to talk. But we don't know who their leader is. We have people wanting to negotiate. We have no idea who they are. The president says the condition of Ayatollah Khomeini's son, selected as the country's new supreme leader, is unknown right now.

The U.S. will also coordinate with those countries so everything goes quickly, smoothly, and well.
