More fierce fighting. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. And Israel is laying out its next move as missile strikes from Iran continue to rock the country. Fox's Mike Tobin is in Tel Aviv. The rocket and missile fire into Israel is constant. The drill of people getting warnings over their phones and retreating to bomb shelters has almost become routine.
Now, the one type of weapon that's making it past the Israeli air defenses are the cluster bombs. The cluster bombs were fired at Israel. One of the bomblets from inside the cluster making it into the heart of Tel Aviv, striking at a main artery there. One man who didn't make it into the shelter. I'm glad to say that he was only lightly wounded after being too close for comfort there.
President Trump says Iran wants to make a deal, but the terms, in his words, are not good enough. He stopped short of saying what those terms are. Fox's Dana Marie McNichol. Meantime, the president is urging U.S. allies to send ships to the Middle East to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. And as the Iran war pushes past day 16, Democrats are asking, where's the exit plan?
Senator Adam Schiff tells NBC's Meet the Press. Promising the American people he wouldn't bring us into another foreign war. Then being unwilling to tell us what the real cost of this war are going to be. And we still don't hear from the secretary, don't hear from the president what the real cost of this will be, how long it will go on. Already, we've spent billions and billions of dollars.
and Pope Leo's appealing for peace. While speaking to thousands of pilgrims and tourists gathered in St. Peter's Square, Pope Leo called for an immediate ceasefire and dialogue, calling the war in the Middle East horrific and atrocious. The pontiff didn't cite the U.S.
or Israel by name, but his comments were the strongest to date, and he reminded the leaders involved in the conflict that violence can never lead to justice, stability, and peace.
