Chapter 1: What is the current status of the partial government shutdown?
It's day four of the partial government shutdown. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News, and perhaps the last one. If everything goes according to plan here on the Hill today, this partial government shutdown should be over by some point later today. Fox's Bill Malujian in Washington. President Trump decided to get involved.
He urged a handful of House Republicans to drop their demand to attach the GOP voter ID law known as the SAVE Act to this package of government spending bills. Speaker Johnson says now just isn't the time for that. This is a funding package right now, and I don't think we need to be playing games with government funding.
That funding's through September, but not for Homeland Security, which only gets two weeks of money as Democrats, including Congressman Jim McGovern, demand ICE reform. I will not vote for business as usual while masked agents break into people's homes without a judicial warrant in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

And after all the anti-ice protests in Minneapolis and two deadly shootings... Every federal law enforcement officer in the field in Minneapolis, including Border Patrol and ICE agents, are being given body cameras, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says. The search continues for the mother of NBC Today show host Savannah Guthrie, believed kidnapped Saturday night in Arizona. The Pima County Sheriff says given the nature of the crime scene at Guthrie's home, he believes she was taken by force with evidence pointing in the direction of her being harmed in the process, and it's a race against the clock.
The 84-year-old has medical conditions that require medication, and if doses are missed, it can be fatal. The sheriff says Nancy Guthrie's medication, wallet, and phone were found inside the home. We have been told that investigators are going door to door asking neighbors for any door camera footage they may have.
The sheriff also says there were security cameras at the Guthrie home, which they are also looking at. Fox is Alicia Acuna in Tucson, and NASA is delaying its Artemis II moon mission until March at the earliest.
