Chapter 1: What recent events led to the killing of Iran's Minister of Intelligence?
Iran's Minister of Intelligence taken out. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. Esmail Khatib was killed overnight in a precision strike. The third Iranian leader killed the past two days. Khatib oversaw Iran's global intelligence apparatus, including alleged sleeper cells located around the world. We're told that finding him was a joint effort from Israeli and U.S. intelligence.
That's Fox's Jonathan Savage, rather Iran's retaliating. Overnight, missiles soared through the skies of central Israel. Some of them intercepted. Others had clustered munitions on top. Just outside of Tel Aviv, flames spewing from a parking area beneath a building around the central part of the country. Two people were killed in the area of Ramat Gan.
That's Fox's Trey Ings, who also reports from Tel Aviv. The Israelis launched a fresh round of strikes. against the Lebanese capital of Beirut, going after Iran's largest proxy there in the Dakhia neighborhood. These strikes took place following new Hezbollah rocket fire into central and southern Israel. The U.S.
military keeps up the attacks as well with bunker buster bombs targeting missile launchers near the Strait of Hormuz, where oil shipping has been mostly halted. President Trump's upset that NATO allies would not help form a coalition to make oil shipping safer. NATO's making a very foolish mistake, and I've long said that, you know, I wonder whether or not NATO would ever be there for us.
So this was a great test, because we don't need them, but they should have been there. Oil prices down modestly this morning. Security lines could be long again at some airports. STSA agents not being paid don't show up over a third called out yesterday in Atlanta, where agent and union steward George Borak just told Fox... We're still reeling from the shutdown that we had in the fall.
So people were trying to get back on their feet. So to have this occur, it's like a double-edged sword. The pay held up as Homeland Security funding remains held up in a dispute in Congress.

Her statement comes following the abrupt resignation of Joe Kent, who led the National Counterterrorism Center.
Kent says Iran posed no imminent threat and the war was started due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News. President Trump called Kent very weak on security in the Iran regime. He says it was vicious and we can't let them have a nuclear weapon. On Wall Street, stocks may rise again. Dow futures up more than 200 points.
There is a new World Baseball Classic champion. Venezuela, after beating Team USA in the final. Venezuela struck first with a Michael Garcia sack fly and a solo home run by Willier Abreu to give them a 2-0 lead. But in the bottom of the eighth inning, Bryce Harper tied the game with one swing, keeping the Americans in it with a two-run shot.
But the top of the ninth saw Venezuela retake the lead thanks to Eugenio Suarez. Into left center field, headed for the gap, and Venezuela has retaken the lead. Eugenio Suarez, just like that. The call on Fox, Venezuela wins it 3-2 to capture their first ever WBC title. Michael Garcia was named MVP. Tony Genualdo, Fox News. The men's college basketball tournament started last night.
Texas beat NC State. Howard topped UMBC. Both advanced into the bracket with two more play-in games tonight.
