Chapter 1: What happened to Nancy Guthrie and what are the details of her kidnapping?
They still haven't found Nancy Guthrie. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. The mother of today's show host Savannah Guthrie believed kidnapped Saturday night from her Tucson, Arizona home, where Fox's Alicia Acuna reports TMZ and TV stations received what may be a ransom note. The note, they say, demanded millions in cryptocurrency for the safe return of Nancy Guthrie by a stated deadline.
They report the note contained specific information about about the crime scene and Nancy that is not known to the public. Now, the Pima County Sheriff's Department in a statement said it is aware of the possible ransom notes and they are taking all tips and leads seriously. The sheriff says investigators have cleared the home for the investigation and have now turned it back to the family.
They have processed DNA testing that so far, they say, has not produced a person of interest.
Chapter 2: What are the implications of the recent government shutdown and funding approval?
The partial government shutdown is over after four days with funding through September approved by Congress, signed by President Trump for everything But Homeland Security, as Democrats insist on immigration enforcement reform after all the controversy in Minneapolis. Democrats demand changes at DHS by Friday the 13th. Otherwise, there's another shutdown for just that department.
A DHS shutdown means no pay for TSA and volatility at ICE. though its operations are funded thanks to the one big beautiful bill. That's Fox's Chad Pergamon at the Capitol. The U.S. and Iran still plan talks Friday as President Trump demands Iran scale back nuclear and missile development after joining Israel, bombing Iran's nuclear facilities last year.

diplomat has told Reuters these negotiations will take place in Oman. The U.S. military yesterday shot down an Iranian drone. It said aggressively approached the aircraft carrier the Abraham Lincoln. Matt Finn reports the issue is whether to disqualify the entire Utah County Attorney's Office or at minimum lead prosecutor Chad Grunander. Robinson's team argues the prosecutor's office should be disqualified because Grunander's 18-year-old daughter was in the audience at Charlie Kirk's assassination at Utah Valley University.
But Grunander testified yesterday that his daughter being in the crowd that day has no bearing on the office's move to seek the death penalty for Tyler Robinson. Wall Street stock futures are mixed before today's trading.
