Chapter 1: What recent events have escalated tensions between Israel and Iran?

And Larajani was also serving as the secretary to Iran's National Security Council, responsible for building the military structure being used against U.S. forces and allies across the region.
A top besiege commander by the name of Golem Reza Soleimani was killed in a separate strike, along with, according to an official I spoke with, more than a dozen besiege officials. Fox's Trey Yinkston, Tel Aviv. That bus siege is the military and militia that cracked down on a recent uprising in Iran, killing thousands of civilian protesters. And as the U.S.
also continues to attack Iran on 18th day, the counterattacks continue.
Chapter 2: How are U.S. interests being targeted in the Middle East?
Iran's latest salvo against American interests in the Middle East saw three drones and four rockets fired at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Reuters reports one of the drones got through and struck inside the embassy compound. Fox's Jonathan Savage. Iran also hit another oil facility in the region in the United Arab Emirates as oil shipping remains pretty much halted.
Fox's Mark Meredith reports. The White House is hoping the world's need for a stable supply of oil will incentivize more countries to step up and do more to protect cargo ships so that they can move through the Strait of Hormuz. The president says it'll take an international coalition to ensure maritime traffic can pass through the Strait safely. step up. No coalition announced yet.
Chapter 3: What impact is the ongoing conflict having on oil prices and shipping?
Oil prices up 3%. As parts of the U.S. clean up from bad weather, there are more than 2,500 flights canceled or delayed as some airports may have long security lines again. The Department of Homeland Security funding still blocked in Congress. Some TSA agents still not showing up. They missed their first full paycheck last week.

A woman in Utah who wrote a children's book about grief and coping with death after her husband died, convicted of killing him. A jury in Park City, Utah, finding Corey Richens guilty of all five counts in the 2022 killing of her husband, Eric, at their home.
We, the jury, unanimously find that the defendant, Corey Richens, is guilty of aggravated murder. Prosecutors say the 35-year-old laced her husband's cocktail with a lethal dose of fentanyl and fraudulently claimed insurance benefits, believing she would inherit his estate worth more than $4 million. Richens was also convicted of insurance fraud, forgery, and attempted aggravated murder.
She had pled not guilty. A sentencing hearing is set for May 13th. Kristen Goodwin, Fox News.

The Fed is about to assess the economy, starting a two-day meeting that will include Federal Reserve policymakers considering another interest rate cut.
