Chapter 1: What are the latest updates on the economy and inflation?

We just got a key update to the economy. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. The inflation report for February coming in just like predicted. Month over month, a gain of three-tenths of a percent expected. Year over year, a gain of 2.4 percent. That's the annual rate. Again, year over year as expected. That's also the previous number we got for January, CPI. That's Fox Business Network's Sheryl Cassoni.

This check of consumer prices, though, is pre-war inflation. The price of oil is back up to 87 bucks a barrel this morning. Gas is up another four cents. Triple-A's national average for regular, 59 cents higher than before the conflict started. And Iran keeps trying to disrupt fuel supplies, bombing three cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz. They've also been putting mines in that strait. The U.S.

has destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying boats. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum just told Fox. President Trump has made it very clear the consequences if they try to do that. And there's a lot of options between ourselves and our allies in the region, including our Arab friends in the region, to make sure that those straits keep open and that energy keeps flowing.

And Iran's also been firing drones into Gulf countries that have been shot down and... Overnight, more Iranian ballistic missiles soared through the skies of central Israel. Even just a few minutes ago, we had sirens here in the second largest city of Tel Aviv. Many missile interceptions taking place overnight. Fox's Trey Yinks also reports from Tel Aviv.

From Iran's chief of police, a stern warning to his own people, saying that any protesters out on the street will be treated like enemy combatants, that they will be killed. He said security forces have their fingers on the trigger. This is after a crackdown on protests before the war killed thousands in Iran. At least two people dead in Lake Village, Indiana, after a tornado hit.

Chapter 3: What actions is the U.S. taking against Iranian threats?

The Global Entry program was put on hold February 22nd because of the partial Department of Homeland Security shutdown. It's back up again. DHS saying in a statement, we are working hard to alleviate the disruptions to travelers caused by the Democrats shutdown. Global Entry fast tracks the return of travelers who sign up and pay for it and are pre-vetted for security for five years.
