Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said the concerns he sees include beneficiaries getting personal care services.
The spending on each beneficiary, Dr. Oz said in a produced video, is well above the national average. In that video, he issued a deadline to New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul. Governor Hochul has a month to share a reasonable corrective action plan to fix the fraud, waste, and abuse in New York State. Our CMS will start deferring payments to protect Medicaid.
Governor Hochul told reporters the administration is again targeting a Democratic state for political reasons. Last week, Minnesota had nearly $260 million in Medicaid funds frozen by the government. Colonel Scott, Fox News. The family of a Utah teen has filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming a faulty repair to her vehicle caused her death.
The family of Alexia De La Rosa alleged the 17-year-old was involved in a minor crash in northern Utah last July when the driver's side airbag deployed like a grenade. sending shrapnel flying, killing her. The family suing Auto Savvy, a national used car dealer, claiming it repaired the teen's 2019 Hyundai Sonata with counterfeit airbag inflators before selling it.
An attorney for the family says they were never told that it was repaired with defective airbag inflators. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently revealing it is aware of 10 crashes resulting in death or serious injury from ruptured replacement airbag inflators made in China. Two parents have sued the state of Vermont, challenging its education reform law, claiming it violates their children's access to private school and limits their educational opportunity.
