π The Future of Space video podcast is a candid and informal conversation, between myself and leaders, investors, innovators, educators, celebrities, movers, and shakers who are shaping the future of humankind into outer space. Like how two friends would chat and philosophe. With just one thing missing, a glass of wine! π Our guest today is Avi Loeb. Avi is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science atΒ Harvard University and a bestselling author. He has written 9 books as well as over a thousand scientific papers. Loeb is the Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation within the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and serves as the Head of the Galileo Project. Loeb had been the longest-serving Chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy and the Founding Director of Harvard's Black Hole Initiative. He is a former member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology at the White House. He also chairs the Advisory Committee for the Breakthrough Starshot Initiative and serves as the Science Theory Director for all Initiatives of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. In 2012, TIME magazine selected Loeb as one of the 25 most influential people in space.
