Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. He holds a PhD in astrophysics from Columbia University and has published extensively in both scholarly journals and the popular press.Dr. Tyson is the host of the long-running science podcast and radio show StarTalk, and he is perhaps best known to general audiences as the host of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, the acclaimed sequel to Carl Sagan’s original series. His books — including Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, Death by Black Hole, and Letters from an Astrophysicist — have become New York Times bestsellers and have brought complex scientific ideas to millions of readers.Neil has served on two U.S. government commissions focusing on the future of the aerospace industry and space exploration policy and was appointed to NASA's Advisory Council in 2006.
