This week we’re continuing the conversation on creating powerful emotional fuel to help set your gymnasts up for success. Did you know that you can experience two emotions at the same time? One of our favorite strategies to help our gymnasts navigate through negative emotions is to focus on a second, more positive emotion simultaneously. We call them “AND emotions” and they are here to come to the rescue. Think about an athlete that’s scared to try something new. While they may be experiencing the emotion of fear, they can also be experiencing the emotion of excitement. In this episode, Ali and Stacie teach us how to focus our attention on positive emotion so that we can take positive actions as we move through this process.
