Description
樋口一葉のたけくらべは、雑誌文学界からの依頼で、明治二十八年一月から、翌年の一月まで連載されました。最初のタイトルは「雛鳥」 その後、タイトルは「たけくらべ」となり、手を加えられたものが、明治二十九年文芸倶楽部に掲載されました。少年少女の初恋の物語。 一葉はこのとき、二十四才。たけくらべは森鴎外らに高く評価されたものの、一葉自身は肺結核が進行しており、その年の十一月に死去。一葉の残した美しい物語は、今も読み継がれている。
