more power to you T's and C's apply 18 plus bet responsibly gamblingcare.ie Hey there we are Indosport with me John Malloy we cover sport and we have things like this I was kind of blunt well yeah world's not fair you have stage 4 cancer oh well world's not fair but sometimes I think that bluntness helps me and like me and Tommy have Terrible sense of humour.
I think it's really hard for people who don't know us very well because sometimes we throw out something really, really dark and people are like, Jesus, Ciara. They haven't been around me on this process long enough just yet for me to throw out a little bit of that.
But me and Tommy find our ways to cope.
I'm Michael Verney and welcome to the IndoGA podcast sponsored by AIB. AIB are proud sponsors of the GA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and know the support of backroom teams can have a real impact. Behind every county are those who lift us all. If you like the show, be sure to follow IndoGA in your podcast feeds. A sobering weekend for myself.
Probably a sobering weekend for Harlan as well. But we'll get through it all in the company of Pat and John as always. Boys, how we doing? Mull is in the van. It's very close to overheating, I'd say, Mull. I hope you've taken plenty of safety precautions.

Chapter 2: What were the worst defeats experienced by the guests in their careers?
That was the first, they were the first three words I wrote down after about 10 minutes and that's, that's just a matter of fact, like, unfortunately.
Yeah, well, look, I don't want, like, From a Waterford point of view, it was a hard watch. I was up there myself doing radiometry and it was a hard watch. Sometimes Waterford, and I spoke about this a couple of weeks ago, obviously Waterford in the same light as Offaly. We are punching above our weight for the size of both counties. I don't want to stick the knife in when I've been there before.
I've been there before. I've been in that situation before. It's difficult. But that is the one area, even the likes of Screeny, exceptional talent, did really well the other day. But he's probably another player that could have looked now and said, right,
September to September now to January let's put on more bulk and it's one area that they can go after is to bulk up a bit more you know yeah 100% we'll get into the game lads from a Cork point of view Pat did Cork get much out of this?
The one thing, and I even said it to Ben O'Connor after, and he kind of, the word, what he said was that he got a gallop into Dara Fitzgibbon, that he wouldn't have got into him otherwise. And Adam Walsh showed that, albeit against inferior opposition, that he's a dangerous animal inside as well. Did they get much out of this? They didn't really, to be fair.
Their supporters got another big day out, in fairness.
In all fairness, for a game that was always threatening to be double digits, they'll just show up, in fairness.
That was a fantastic turnout the other day. There was more of that game than there was in Croke Park for Dublin and Donegal. That's impressive. It's very impressive.
Lads, isn't there something beautiful about Cork in Taurus and the crowd there?

Chapter 3: How does Cork's performance highlight the class gap in hurling?
Clare worked the ball up the other end. I think it's Shane Meehan got on the ball. Our next thing is a two-point swing. The gap is out the three. I thought that was nearly the tournament.
What's the point in having a linesman? if they can't call that. Seriously now, lads. Like, that sort of stuff, as a manager, that would drive you insane. They can see it right in front of you. It's right beside you, like, just, if a wrong call, like, if they see something wrong happening in a game, hand up and make the referee aware of it. Like, it was, it was a,
I'd say it was a little bit more than a mini turning point. It was a decent turning point in the game. They would have had one in it and God only knows what way it goes. All of a sudden it goes to three. I can't get my head around stuff like that now, to be honest with you. Quilligan Pat, some great saves.
Chapter 4: What are the implications of Cork's goal hunger in the championship?
I would say he's much maligned at times. Jesus, he's had to turn into a brilliant shot stopper.
Yeah, he's really improved his game. He was exceptional the other day. And the one that Mulder mentioned, Ronan Hayes, was actually a great flick up from him and a great pass in. Couldn't have felt a better fella than Donald Burke. Donald Burke was good. He scored a couple of great long-range points. And you're thinking, Jesus, this is definitely going in. I don't know how he saved it.
Because he was actually very close to him as well. And Donald Burke is an unreal striker at the ball. So, no, Quilligan's in great form. Such an important position that you want someone to be in good form heading up to Crowe Park now. Because the further you go in every competition, the harder it gets.
do you know so it's going to be it's going to be absolutely huge for him and for another it's his third time this year I think it's only Nicky Quaid has two and that's Ava Quilligan third time this year where a goalie's got men of the match that must be that seems very very high for one year we don't see goalies get men of the match too often so I think Nicky Quaid is number one goalie this year and Quilligan is number two I think
Jesus, I'd still have Billy Nolan in pole position, Nicky number two, Quilligan three. Now, obviously, and the mad thing about it, if Nicky Quaid has two more good matches, he could end up getting harder. But look, I picked me...
me mid-season all-star team to days and I had Billy Nolan I just thought overall and like if you were to pick a Munster all-star team off the back of the Munster Championship Nicky or Billy just kind of you know slightly above above Nicky Quaid for me I disagree with you I just think the Munster playing in a game he gets men of the match in that we win by a pint
You know, when the margins are so razor-twin, I thought Billy Nolan was another premise.
We'll give the other vote over to Vernie. As of right now, Vernie, who would you have?
Over to Simon Cowell here on the internet.

Chapter 5: How can Offaly improve after their recent performances?
Now, I think the Munster Council now will have to look at themselves as well. They've had it so good. And they have to be looking at the Leinster Council and saying, well, Jesus, maybe we take a leaf out of the Leinster Council in regards to ticket prices. I think the Leinster Council... have never had it as good. And I think they have to look at their ticket prices as well.
Their ticket prices, you know, have gone through the roof in regards to hard-pressed families who would love to go to games and actually have to pick and choose what games they go to. But they would get it hard. Leinster Council would get it hard and Croke Park would get it hard. Then you're going to have more games. And then...
Now, I've been a big advocate that we need to get as many games on free-to-air TV. Now, there's an awful lot of people giving out about what played out the weekend in regards to the first 10 minutes not being on TV. I think what has to come of this now in the next year, even a promotional way, from a promotional side, we need to strip it all back and say, well, where are we going wrong?
And from a promotional point of view as well, we're not promoting the game enough. We're just simply not promoting the game enough. and basically what has to happen I think even we're all in the argument of GA plus you know my thoughts and I think and I've come on the record and said GA plus is fantastic so there's going to be more games than ever but what has to happen as well
And what has to be a given going forward is you're seeing it with the World Cup now, lads. We're just being polluted, flooded with games. And it's great. I love sitting down at 9 o'clock, 8 o'clock. Maybe there's an opening to have Friday night games. I think that will be great. Maybe one or two championship games on a Friday night. RT are definitely open to showing games on Friday night.
But I think what has to be a given... Every Saturday, there has to be one really good football fixture and one really good hurling fixture on a Saturday. And the exact same on a Sunday. One really appetising hurling fixture and one appetising football fixture on a Sunday. And I don't think anyone would give out, Dan, for whatever other games GA Plus gave.
And I think it has to be... And I think...
RTE have to have a strong voice and because at the end of the day RTE whether people like RTE or not are our voices lads are the nation's voices because they're the free to air voice they're acting on behalf of the nation and what the nation want to watch so RTE have to have a strong voice and say well look you know what Tipperary are playing Cork we want that game on the Saturday Limerick are playing
player on the Sunday we want that game and they're not speaking on behalf of RT they're speaking on behalf of the nation what the nation want not what RT want it's what the nation want and the boys on Crowe Park the penny has to drop the penny has to drop and then give it over then there'll be there'll be loads of other games that the GAA Plus can cover.
