Chapter 1: What is causing the backlash against Helldivers 2's new DLC?
There's more to come, too, Tim. We're hearing whispers.
There's more lists.
And we're going to react to some lists. More lists are coming.
The stream after that will be Magic the Gathering, which is more Blessed Mike.
I have a backpack full of Magic cards. I mean, like, a large backpack full of Magic cards. So, yeah, we're on a Magic kick right now. We want to bring it into 2025 and beyond. We want to learn how to play Commander together as a group. So, yeah, stick around for a lot of fun. Have fun.
Remember, if you're a kind of funny member, you get today's Gregway. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Delaney Twining and Carl Jacobs. Today, we're brought to you by Heart Electric. Still wakes the deep RF frames and Marvel Snap, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report.
It's time for some news. Six stories today. A baker's dozen!
Story number one. Helldiver twos. I want to let you know, Mike, that I thought you were hosting today. And you know how every once in a while Kevin slips a banana into the script? Yes. I was going to put a couple skibbities in there. I would have probably thrown it out there. That's right. Hell Divers 2's Killzone crossover has already sparked an outcry over the super high cost of items.
This comes from Wesley Inpool at IGN. Hell Divers 2's, it's really hard to do the double plural there. It's tough, yeah, yeah. Killzone Crossover confirmed and released today, December 18th, has already sparked backlash over the cost of its items. Part 1 of the Helldivers 2 and Killzone Crossover includes a Killzone-themed armor set, assault rifle, banner, cape, and player title.

Chapter 2: How did Greg Miller respond to the DLC pricing?
I don't know why that was there.
Yeah. You know, we're coming to a realization here. It's a big moment, right? Helldivers 2 has built up a lot of goodwill.
A lot of people have enjoyed what they have brought, how they have added in content for free, the war bonds being pretty cheap, how you can also earn enough credits to buy more war bonds and kind of stay on this endless cycle without having to really spend a lot of money like you see in other live service games. And today, that changes.
Yeah.
Today might be the day where Helldivers looks at you and says, hey, Fortnite does it. Call of Duty does it. Can we do it?
And now you, the audience, have to pick and choose what you want to do here. My gut tells me they reversed this. Just based on how Helldivers and the devs have handled Helldivers so far. I do think that this gets reversed. Am I crazy to say that?
No, Tim. Like I said, they have a lot of goodwill. They got a lot of love going on for this property and this team right now that I think the right move is to reverse this and try to figure it all out. On the opposite side, someone who is really ingrained in the live service world, right? This isn't anything different, right? You go to Call of Duty, it's $20 per skin pack.
You go to Fortnite, they're selling a Snoop Dogg pack for $32. Now, of course, all of that varies with how much items and cosmetics you get in that. But, like, this is the way of the world when we talk about live service microtransaction games. This isn't anything crazy. This is right online with everything else.
But isn't it crazy because those are free-to-play games?

Chapter 3: What are the details of Marvel's 1943: Rise of Hydra?
Yes. Yeah. So I don't know. But I mean, look, we've already seen more than I thought we would. This looks crazy. But yeah, just us being here, them talking about concept art to Entertainment Weekly, not filling me with hope for a 2025, even though they're still saying 2025. But yeah.
I mean, but Entertainment Weekly, Marvel, Amy, it's all just like the perfect blend of like, yeah, that's the perfect little article they're going to write up, get the hype generated again. Will it be 2025? You know, Tim, it probably is not in the games industry and how things work here. It looks good, man. You just got to cross your fingers for all gamers out there that we do see this.
You would love to see a game like this. This is what the gamers want, especially with the Marvel IP. This is the type of game that I want out of that. Me too. Yeah, I'm hoping for something great here, and I hope that it does come see the light of day. Oh, 1943. It needs a better name.
It does. It really does. You don't think they'll change the name? I don't think the game comes out. The series of trailers they release under the 1943 Rise of Hydra name is pretty dope, but yeah. Anyway, here's hope in everybody. Before we get to story number three, though, I want to give you guys a real quick word from our sponsors. This episode's brought to you by Heart Electric.
Heart Electric is an upcoming four-team arena shooter with a fresh twist. Outthink and outplay your opponents to ultimately come out on top in the battle for life-sustaining energy. Made by developers from the Battlefield series and Helldivers 2, Heart Electric is all about eliminating three other teams by dropping their energy to zero while keeping your team's energy supply high.
How you keep yourself in play is up to your own scheming. Take a direct approach and steal energy from other teams' bases or complete assignments while staying out of the spotlight. When one team takes the lead, do you communicate with the other teams and form a temporary truce? Or do you take advantage of the panic to launch a sneaky assault on the weakest link?
Heart Electric's winter playtest is going down January 18th, starting at noon Eastern time. Sign up through Steam to not miss the chance to try the next big FPS. Heart Electric.
