Chapter 1: What can we expect from the upcoming MAFS 2026 season?
Hello and welcome back to the Maths Winning Podcast with me, Joshua Fox. The time is upon us, guys. We've made it. The new season starts tomorrow. We all said we would not be watching Married at First Sight again after the shit show last year, but here we all are. We're all excited. We're all going to love it and hate it once again.
And I thought I'd do a little episode today with like a what you need to know going into this season, what you can expect. It's not really spoilers.
Chapter 2: Why are fans drawn back to MAFS despite previous disappointments?
It's more a teaser. And if you listen to this, like... you're going to be ahead of everybody else. So you'll kind of like have the inside scoop from the very start. And I'm joined today by a guest. It's a friend of mine called Hannah. You may have seen her on your For You page on TikTok. Previously, she does little recaps of maths.
She's a former podcast producer at Nova, where she did the Back to Reality podcast. Some of you may have listened to. Now she's out there in the world on her own. She's doing her own podcast. What's it called, Hannah? Offscript.
And that is talking about... All things reality TV, but we're kicking off with maths, obviously, because it's the biggest and best.
Yep.
But I'm addicted to all TV, so... Yeah, you watch more than me. I know. Not enough hours in the day, but you've got to be committed when you're a superfan.
And I wanted to get you in today because I've been saying for a while now, Pedro just is shit on here. I want a female perspective every now and again, like have a chat. And I thought there's some things in here I'm interested to get your take on as a woman. Right. Anyway, before we go into the main talking points for this season, what we know so far is...
This was originally dubbed the all-star season, and that was dubbed by me because all the people on there think that they're stars. They've all either got TikTok, one's been a TV presenter, one's a rapper, one's a motivational speaker. They're all aspiring to be something. And on the show, it's going to present them as whoever, he's a carpenter.
No, he's a carpenter on the side while doing 20 TikToks a day.
It's weird that they do that because every year the feedback is like, we just want normal people. We're sick of influencers, blah, blah, blah. And then they're like, let's just do even more. Let's put a TV star on.

Chapter 3: What insider information do we have about the MAFS 2026 cast?
They were like, hello, have you read your contracts?
Yeah, they then all stayed in line for just a few weeks.
Okay.
Now filming is kind of wrapped.
Yeah.
also rogue again and you may have noticed in the lead up there's not really been any interviews from cast members no usually you might get a couple of brides wheeled out on the today show or whatever yeah there's been none of that and i'm told because producers cannot trust any of them oh my god they're scared to give them any platform that's why you've seen john aiken do all the pre-season press yeah you're gonna be chasing him through a car park again this year or
this man is the biggest ick for me and this brings us into the first point of this podcast John Aitken has gone rogue so last year Hannah we watched it ended with like this girl power vibe of like all the women were like we don't need no man you know it's us against the world it was quite wholesome it was sweet this year is the complete opposite of that and John is just he's done he's a man that's he's reached the end of his tether
And he's done three interviews in the last week. And I've got quotes here. And each one, you can just feel that anger in his voice more. So it starts with the Daily Mail. And this is what he said to them. And firstly, John keeps saying the words boss babes, which at first I thought he coined the term. Then I was like, that is the biggest ick I've ever heard.
But I think it's what a group of the women on the show call themselves.

Chapter 4: How did a rogue night out impact the MAFS 2026 production?
Or maybe the women are great. And again, it's just John hates them.
Yeah, true. Yeah.
Anyway, moving on, this new season has gone gay. So you may have seen in the adverts they're teasing a bride called Julia who's openly bisexual. And in the adverts, it's like, I don't know if I want a man or a woman. So they're giving us a bisexual cliffhanger.
Yeah.
Which, firstly, is pointless because when you look at the cast list, there's equal men and women.
Yeah. Unless we've got a thruffle and a solo.
Yeah.
That would actually be great.
Yeah. Gay is so five years ago. Let's do throuple. Let's do poly couple.

Chapter 5: What drama is expected between the cast and producers this season?
I hope it works out.
Yeah.
You're looking at me like there's drama.
Look, I don't know if they stay together or not, but what I will say, it's not smooth sailing for them. And I don't know how I have ended up involved in so much of this season, but there was something I revealed on this podcast.
like months ago which maybe some people remember some people don't oh no and i assume that it had already been discussed on the show and everyone was aware of it about one cast member who was a gay one it turns out it wasn't and then it's to do with the gay couple and then the other person hit the podcast and then it it derailed them briefly and that was during filming yes
But in my defense, right?
I'm worried how involved you are.
Well, here's the thing. I report on the show. We get the pictures when people are married. The identities are in the Daily Mail. It's out there. And when these very prominent things about your life that so many people know, like all your exes, all your friends, your colleagues.
Yeah, you can't hide.

Chapter 6: How are the dynamics among cast members different this season?
Yeah. If 10 people have sent it to you, it's ready for public consumption.
Yes. Well, it was publicly consumed by his husband.
Okay. Yeah. Okay, I also hear that Revelations week is different this year.
Yeah, this is a whole new twist or new challenge or something, John. I've seen that headline. John announced his new challenge, but I've had enough reading your interviews. What's he banging on about now?
I've got a little quote here. Shall I read it?
Oh, yeah.
So John said, it's a new format where we get them early in the experiment to break up into groups, men and women, and we look at their relationships, the red flags, the green flags of the participants that we've matched them with, and they get feedback from people in their groups. And what's challenging is that some of them are very good at taking feedback, but a lot of them aren't.
And so it creates a lot of anger and animosity. Well, no wonder the women are yelling at each other and saying hurtful things.
And, like, you know they've only made this thing so it creates anger and animosity.
