Hello and welcome to Mamma Mia Out Loud. It's what women are actually talking about. On Wednesday the 17th of June, I'm Holly Wainwright. I'm Amelia Lester.
And I'm Mia Friedman. Thanks. I don't even know who I'm here for. I got a call. Claire's not well, so I guess I'm here for Claire, who's here for Jessie. Yeah. We have many layers of ring-ins. Before we get to you, Mia Friedman. I'm essentially the C-list. You know things about Jeremy and Wintry when the C-list is called up from the bench.
We are very happy you're here. Did you know that we found out today that we are back to the number one spot in the podcast ranker?
That's the only reason I'm here.
I only appear on number one shows. And Outlouders might be like, what? I thought you were already there. And it's like, well, we did maybe slip to number two for one month only and we decided not to mention it, to just carry on.
I said that I didn't want to mention it because it doesn't feel very American and confident to be like, well, we're now two again.
It's quite Australian, though, to be the underdog. But we're no longer. We are back to number one. Thanks to you, Outlouders. We're the big dog. And we only have to do six times as many shows as Hamish and Andy to beat them in the ranker. Shushes! She's back to not being American, Amelia.
Yeah, that makes me uncomfortable, that kind of self-deprecation.

Chapter 2: Why are rich men seeking trad wives through matchmakers?
He was only 33 when he was elected.
I thought you had to be 40 in America.
To be president. He's now 39, which means that he's just in time. He used to be a documentary filmmaker. If he became president, he'd be the first Jewish president. And here's a very exciting little tidbit for you. He is an Aussie. Let me explain.
Sorry, what?
Yeah. No one seems to have twigged on this, including the Australian media. His mother, Heather Fenton, she is an Australian. She moved to the US from Australia at the age of 23. He has traveled to Australia several times since. And most crucially of all, he calls her mum. We know this because on Mother's Day, he posts, happy Mother's Day, mum. Yes, you heard that right. M-U-M.
He's R. John Ossoff.
Oh, he's Aussie ass. This is huge.
He's our John Ossoff.
So, Amelia, I've heard names thrown around, you know, Gavin Newsom this, Wes Carr that. Am I getting that name even right? No, that's the guy from Britain. I don't know who you're talking about. Anyway, ignore me. Das Carr? Anyway. Okay.

Chapter 3: Who is being called the 'new Obama' in Australian politics?
Their husbands' jobs come second and they are able to take a greater share of the child caring or homemaking responsibilities. Absolutely.
That's definitely this model in my house. But we still don't like that, valorise that, have made a male, stereotype's the wrong word, like a male. Yeah, a male trad wife. Yeah, a male trad wife.
I think we're just trad husbands. It's interesting that Melinda... No, trad husbands means something different, doesn't it? Yes. It kind of is the opposite of trad, exactly.
It's interesting that Melinda French right now is doing a lot of interviews. She used to be Melinda Gates, Bill Gates' former wife. And they met at work. She was very high powered at Microsoft when they met. And she led a huge team of engineers there and was clearly destined for great things within that company. They met, they got married.
Presumably part of what attracted him to her was that they had this shared interest. They had this shared field and profession. But I am thinking about your words, Mia, about how that can lead to some incompatibility down the line. Clearly it did for them. They had a very long marriage and they had two children together and they still co-parent those children, although they're growing now.
But it's become apparent in interviews that he didn't actually want her to keep pitching in and talking to him as an equal. Yeah. Because that's part of why he started running around with Jeffrey Epstein.
And it's part of why the New York Times and others have reported that he was hitting on women in the workplace, because I guess he didn't actually like the fact that he had married someone who he had that shared interest with.
Do you think because it's often these women are much younger than these men, do you think it's that men don't want, they want them. I mean, who doesn't want their needs put first, right? Who doesn't want that? And someone who is younger and less... formed can sort of form themselves around you and what you want and your lifestyle and your career and your wants and needs.
So I can see the appeal of that and I can see, I know that I always bristle when an older man partners or re-partners with a much younger woman because to me that says he doesn't want an equal.

Chapter 4: What do we know about Tom Holland and Zendaya's relationship?
I think that, as you say, from what I understand, I mean, obviously women know froth-overs and Daya. I think they're probably equally famous and successful. I actually think it's both of them who wants this because I got the sense that Gwyneth and Taylor are very comfortable and enjoy... being famous, not every aspect of it, of course, but that's part of their personality.
And I think that Zendaya loves the clothes and loves, for her, I think that is a job. You don't get the sense that that's her identity as much.
Amelia, I want to ask you about Taylor and Travis's wedding. Yes, yes. Because, right, so this wedding, this Tom Zendaya wedding, which as you've pointed out, Amelia, the dress would have been, because she's one of the best dressed stars in the world. We're never going to get to see it and it makes me sad.
It makes me sad in the way that I never got to see the full Jen Aniston look for the Brad Pitt wedding. I never got to see what Madonna wore when she married Guy Ritchie. Or Gwyn, right, with Chris. Or Gwyneth. I never got to see these dresses. That makes me a bit sad, even though, anyway. We are probably almost definitely going to get to see what Taylor wore, right?
But she's choosing, we're going to know exactly when she gets married, allegedly at Madison Square Garden. Doesn't that seem like the anti-Tom and Z?
It's so interesting, this rumour, the Madison Square Garden thing. Oh, it's definitely true. Yeah. And I've come around to it. You said it was true from the start and I couldn't believe it. But now it actually makes sense because she is, as I've said on this podcast, the most famous person to ever get married.
And Madison Square Garden in the age of drones, it may be the only place in the whole world that she can truly do it in private. You can lock down. You can lock it down. Everyone can enter from an underground car park. They can block off the streets. They can do whatever they like inside this arena. Now, people say it's the soulless basketball arena.
But on the other hand, if there's anyone who can dress up a stadium and give it some magic and sprinkle some stardust on it, it is Taylor Allison Swift.
It's literally her job, working with set designers.
