He is enjoying the here and now, every day. Daniel never felt normal when he was using. He was either high, drunk, hungover or full of anxiety. Elliott attributes his popularity on TikTok and other social media to being relatable and sincere about his experiences. People can see themselves and their own experiences in his content. Those who aren’t ready to admit they have a problem can be very negative about you choosing to go sober but don’t allow them to bring you down, you will lose people on your journey to recovery and sobriety. You have to be completely mentally ready to go sober or there will always be reasons to put it off or talk yourself out of it. We all mess up sometimes, Elliott doesn’t believe in ‘relapsing’ in your sobriety journey. We instead have to admit that we have made a mistake and accept it so we can then refocus and realign ourselves. When becoming sober it’s important to prepare yourself for all situations where you may be tempted to use. This is a process Elliott calls ‘immunisation’. Adjust your mindset. Don’t allow yourself to see going sober as giving up anything or your brain will see it as deprivation. It’s not deprivation, it’s making a better life choice for yourself. Our unconscious is partly formed by our proven and personal beliefs. Elliott takes his client’s personal and limiting beliefs and experiences to help them overcome their addictions.
