Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. President Trump now says that House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files because he says Republicans have nothing to hide. Until now, Trump has been fighting the release, criticizing Republicans who said they would vote for the Justice Department to make public those documents.
That vote is coming up this week in the House, as NPR's Mara Lyson tells us.
Chapter 2: What recent developments have occurred regarding the Epstein files?
House Speaker Mike Johnson tried for months to avoid this vote. but he failed when four Republicans joined Democrats to sign a discharge petition. That's a tool that allows rank-and-file House members to circumvent leadership and bring bills to the floor.
Last week, the House Oversight Committee released documents that show President Trump may have known more about Epstein than he has said he did. Trump has lashed out at Republicans who've demanded the documents be released, and he's ordered his attorney general to investigate Epstein's ties to Democrats— including former President Bill Clinton. Mara Liason, NPR News, Washington.

Some airports still had problems on Sunday, but Carl Verne of Montreal says his visit to the states went quite well.
It was actually fine. I mean, there was like some other flights who got delayed, of course, but ours was fine.
French President Emmanuel Macron will host Volodymyr Zelensky Monday in what will be the Ukrainian president's ninth trip to France since Russia's full-scale invasion of his country began three and a half years ago. NPR's Eleanor Beardsley reports that Zelensky predicted historic agreements would be signed with France.
In a video message posted on social media, Zelensky said there would be a historic announcement that will, quote, significantly reinforce our combat aviation and air defenses. Zelensky has made no secret of the fact that he wants French Rafale jets.
McCall and Zelensky will also sit down with the generals leading the so-called Coalition of the Willing, the 35 nations who have pledged to help keep peace in Ukraine once a ceasefire is in place. Zelensky comes to Paris from Athens, where he inked a deal with Greece for gas supplies.
His meetings come amidst relentless Russian attacks, and as the EU weighs whether to use $200 million in frozen Russian assets as collateral for a massive loan to to help Ukraine purchase weapons. Eleanor Beardsley, NPR News, Paris.
President Trump indicated he plans to meet with New York City Mayor-elect Zoran Mandani, speaking with reporters as he returned to Washington from Florida. He said the two would work something out.
