Chapter 1: What mindset shifts are necessary to unlock your potential?
You guys give up way too fucking easy. You need to learn how to be okay with having setbacks. The difference between you and the person achieving it is that they have just taken action. You have so much potential that you are quote unquote wasting. If you can dream it, you can do it.
Chapter 2: How can setbacks be transformed into opportunities for growth?
You can't be waiting for when you're going to magically feel motivated or when the perfect time is going to come up. Motivation comes after, not before.
Welcome back to the Oilers Talk podcast. I'm Kate.
And I'm Gemma, a space for no BS conversations for the women who want more.
Chapter 3: What actions should you take to achieve your goals?
Now, today's episode, we're really excited to get into because we can't believe it is almost the middle of the year. We're coming into May. It's five months in. And I know that...
Chapter 4: How does motivation play a role in achieving success?
At the start of this year, we all would have set big goals and today Kate and I are really excited to help you do a bit of a reset. Coming to the middle of the year to make sure we are on track to achieve our goals, to implement some of the things we're going to recommend to help kind of revitalize our goals and make sure if we're not where we want to be just yet, that we know what
steps to take next so we finish the year strong. So that is everything we want to cover in today's episode. A bit of a reset and a bit of a chance to really finish the year strong and also just revisit what we want to achieve this year.
I feel like it's going to be a reset, the pep talk that you didn't know you needed. If you were feeling like you have fallen off track in Maybe you haven't achieved the goals that you set out. Maybe you're feeling like, oh, I'm actually not going to achieve my goals now because this part of the year hasn't started off the way that I wanted it to.
This episode is going to be perfect for you because I can guarantee you by the end of this episode, you are going to walk away and you are going to feel inspired, motivated, and just ready to fucking go.
We want to G you up. Like the thing that we, Kate and I, love doing is just like helping you see your flaws in the most loving way possible. And when I say flaws, we mean like call yourself out with what you're currently doing that's stopping you from getting there because that is the conversation that you need to have that's going to allow you to grow.
And it allows you to kind of see your own potential.
Yes. You know, something that I always find, and this is just a little sidestep before we get into the episode, something that I always find is like the women that I work with, it's like I see their potential straight away when they come to me. They have big goals, big dreams, big desires.
And then all of the tiny little micro things that they do along the way that cockblock themselves from getting there, that reaffirm that they can't do it, stop them from seeing their own potential. And it's like you almost want to, in the most lovingly way, just shake them and be like, dude, you have so much potential that you are quote unquote wasting because maybe you
what we're going to speak about in today's episode, feel like you fall off track too easy and it's too hard for you to get back on track. So I'm really jaded up for this episode.

Chapter 5: What steps can you take to reset your goals mid-year?
It didn't go to plan. It's too hard. It's too hard. It's like, If you have big goals, and I know that if you're a listener of our podcast, you do, it's going to take more than the average. It's going to take more than just trekking along. It's going to take more effort and that's okay, but you need to be one willing to put in the more effort for those big goals. And two, stop talking about it.
Like if you're talking to your best friend, your family, your partner about all of these things, like you're going to get into the gym, you're going to lose the weight, you're going to grow the glutes, but you haven't joined the gym yet, it's time to join the gym.
If you have the business goals and you're telling everyone that you got all these ideas or you're looking at other people achieve them, the difference between you and the person achieving it is that they have just taken action. They haven't waited for the right time. They're figuring it out as they go. Kate and I are a perfect example of this. We started this podcast together.
we didn't know what we were doing. We didn't know how this whole thing works. The only reason we are successful and building what we're building is because we have this attitude and you can have it. It's not, we're not special. It's just the fact that we are relentless. We will continue to grow. We will continue to have those conversations with ourself of being like, what's working, what's not.
And we keep showing up.
And I am a massive, firm believer that if you have a dream, so you've thought of something that you want to achieve, You can achieve it because there is no way that you would have thought that it was able or available to you if you didn't deep down in your core believe that you could do it. Now, I'm not saying it's going to be easy. It's going to require hard work.
It's going to require an upgraded version of what you currently are of yourself right now. But if you can dream it, you can do it. What happens with people who set really big goals or have really big dreams is they then get faced with one thing that doesn't go to plan. It takes longer than they expected and they decide, you know what, fuck it, I'm giving up.

Chapter 6: How can you implement a structured routine for better results?
It's too hard. And that's the reality. You guys give up way too fucking easy and you need to learn how to be okay with having setbacks, having quote unquote failures. But it doesn't mean that you just stop and go, you know what, this is not meant for me. It's like, okay, well, how can I actually find another way to get there?
A prime example of this is I spent two years, and this is actually something we're going to speak about in today's episode, but we're kind of already into it. So let's just fucking go. Let's go. I spent two years telling every person that I knew that I wanted to be a business coach, that I wanted to help people with business.
I was already helping people at La Trobe University doing volunteer work and business mentoring these people here. I was so, so fearful to start doing it on my own because I thought people would say, oh, you're a flop. You haven't actually built that success. You're a liar. Insert all of the fears of judgment. I spoke about it for two years.
The funny thing about this is the very first time Kate and I met and we worked out and went to a cafe, she told me on that first time of meeting that you wanted to do this. And I was like, do it. I was like, you just need to do it. And you were telling me like a few of your like things you were thinking about. And I was like, you've just got to do it. Go and do it. And you were like, yeah.
And then you did it. Yeah.
But also like prior to that, it was two years of me talking about it. I was already mentoring people in the behind the scenes, but I was like, It was top secret. I was too scared to tell anyone in case I was like a flop or a loser or whatever, what I said before. It took Amand to turn around to me and say, shut the fuck up and do something about it. Yep. And that's the reality.
He said, you have spent two years talking about this and doing nothing. Either shut up, like I'm sick of hearing about it or do something. And then I was able to sell out my business mentoring in literally like two seconds on a call, right? And I wasted two years doing nothing because I was too afraid.
But I also allowed myself to complain to everyone about it because the secondary gain in that was people like, you're so smart. You should be doing it. And that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. But it also meant that I wasn't taking any action.
Yeah.

Chapter 7: Why is radical self-honesty crucial for personal growth?
be able to do a chin up. I'd really love to be a gym girly and be able to do those things. It's like, if you have spoken about that for the last six months and not spoken, if you've spoken about that over the last six months and not done anything about it, it's time to do something.
I always think about this as like when people say, oh, I've just got to ask my partner if I can, you know, invest in a coach or start going to the gym or hire support in my business. And then their partner says no. It's like, I understand why your partner is saying no, if you were the person who has spoken about doing something for years and you've never followed through on it.
It's like, do you think your partner is going to go, yeah, of course you can invest in a coach, even though every single time maybe you've done it before, you haven't followed through, you've complained, you've spoken about doing something, but you haven't actually ever taken action.
It's like you need, and we speak about on this podcast all the time, you need to be able to have radical self-honesty. You know, if right now you're, we're in May, you haven't achieved the goals that you want to achieve, you need to be able to look at all of the things that you are currently doing right now that is stopping you from achieving those goals.
And I'm not saying this task is going to be easy. Like I said, it's going to require you to get really honest with yourself and look yourself in a mirror. But eventually you will get to the point where you will want to change that bad that you will get sick of your own shit.
You will go, I've spent so much time, so much wasted time complaining, not taking action, telling everyone about my goals, my dreams, my desires without doing anything to actually help me move closer towards them. And you will eventually go, you know, I'm sick of my own shit. Now's the time to make a change.
And when that day comes, you will look back and probably listen to this episode and go, wow, those girls were so right. Like it just took me to get to that moment where I was like, you know what, I just need to go after and achieve my goals.
So one of the main things that I want to make in this episode, if you are somebody listening right now, middle of the year, you haven't really achieved anything at the start of the year. I think it's really important, you know, we were really hectic just then and we're going hard about, you know, radical self-honesty, et cetera.
But I also think it's really important to not guilt or shame yourself in the fact that you haven't achieved your goals or gotten closer toward them just yet. Because that cycle also does nothing good for us long term in achieving that goal.

Chapter 8: What daily habits can help you achieve your long-term goals?
100%. I agree. My next point was kind of similar to that, but more so about... It's okay if your goals have changed. So if you are in the middle of the year and you're like, oh, actually, maybe I've changed job. Maybe I actually don't want to lose 10 kilos anymore because I'm happy with the way that I look. It is okay to change your goals, but you need to revisit them and reset them.
I think if we come into the year and we don't achieve those goals at the start of the year, it feels a little bit clunky. It's really easy to just ride the rest of the year out and not actually revisit the goals or reset them. So I think resetting your goals, revisiting is a really great way to one, realign your daily actions with what you want to do every day to achieve that goal.
And then also to allow yourself to get really organized. I find the people that don't achieve their goals are usually really disorganized.
When I think about any goal, whether it's posting on social media, whether it's growing my personal brand, whether it's building my business, whether it's going to the gym, whether it's losing weight, whether it's getting a promotion, it requires a level of organization.
And I can guarantee you that if you get really organized, like Gem said, we time block, we put it into our calendar like an appointment we need to show up for. you will have the time to literally achieve everything that you want.
It's probably right now because you haven't got organized, you're spending too much time on your phone, and you're not actually prioritizing the things that are important to move closer toward that goal. The other thing I just want to quickly add, which is kind of my last point, is just around breaking your big goals up into daily non-negotiables.
So if you have a really big goal that seems really scary for you and you've spent the first half of the year not being able to achieve or have any movement towards that, maybe you need to look at what you are doing every single day, those micro habits that we've spoken about on this podcast before, that is either allowing you to reach that goal or hindering you from getting closer toward it.
So for me, I think about my business goals. I have massive business goals. Am I achieving that in one day? No, but I know every single time I show up, I post content, I'm my authentic self, I create a podcast, I put myself out there, I connect with people. Every single day I do these small little things that all compounds to the end result. Same thing with fat loss.
You're not going to magically jump on the scale tomorrow and have lost 10 kilos. But what you do every single day, those tiny micro habits, the getting to the gym, the not snoozing your alarm, you're hitting your steps, meal prepping, the nutrition. Every single day when you do that, you're not going to see a result straight away, but it compounds to the result that you want at the end.
