One of the things I love is modern phrases or sayings that people use that when you listen to the entire phrase, it's actually the complete opposite of what it was supposed to be. Like blood is thicker than water. The actual phrase was the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. Literally meaning the opposite of blood is thicker than water.

Oh, that the people you form relationships with are stronger than people your blood related to. You don't have to be blood to be family is essentially what they're saying. But it became by cutting out half of the phrase. Yeah, it literally became the opposite.
