Chapter 1: What financial challenges do Cory and Topanga face in finding a home?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl. This podcast is all about going deeper with the women-shaping culture right now. Yes, we will talk about the style and the success, but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work behind it all.
As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated, so you have to work extra hard in a way that doesn't compromise who you are and your integrity. You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Listen to It Girl with Bailey Taylor on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins, but the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax. You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Owens, correct? I doctored the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg Gillespie and Michael Marangini.

And today, I'm talking with my dear friend, Krista Williams. It can change you in the best way possible. Dance with the change. Dance with the breakdowns. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 2 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families. Late one night, Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime.
The perpetrator was sentenced to 99 years until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to Burden of Guilt Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What is looks maxing?
Chapter 4: What does looksmaxxing mean and how does it relate to the characters?
It's very trendy. What is that? Is that a thing? Gosh, I mean, but by the way, I have a looks maxer. Adler is just, I see his future. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad. Is that a horrible thing? It's horrible. So Ryder, you know what this is? You've heard of this? Yes, because he has a tween. It's going to be everywhere in just, you know. I'm mewing right now. Yeah, you're mewing.
Look at you mewing.
Chapter 5: How do societal expectations of masculinity affect the characters' behaviors?
Sigma. Sigma. I don't like any of this. Yeah, exactly. It makes me uncomfortable. You won't. And now I need an Ativan. I don't like any of this. Hey, Will, can you stop mogging, Ryder? Yeah, you're totally. What the fuck does any of this mean? I'm lapping you. You're lapping Will. You're lapping Will with the mogging. With your mogging.
Chapter 6: What themes of adulthood are explored through Cory and Topanga's experiences?
It's a kid's language, right? Is this like the six, seven thing where actually when you get down to it, it really doesn't. No one knows what it means. Hold on. I just I want to work on my cheekbones. Oh, God. Is that a thing? Oh, they take hammers to their face. They take hammers or hard objects to their face to create micro fractures so that certain parts, like, it's all about manliness.
Looks maxers are boys. You gotta have a jawline. who have decided that in order to avoid being an incel, they are going to maximize their beauty. And so. So metrosexual. Well, that, yeah, I guess we've had multiple different.
Chapter 7: How does the episode reflect on the pressures of marriage and relationships?
In 2002. Exactly. So they just, you rebranded metrosexual. You rebranded metrosexual. Metrosexual was always, yeah, okay. And then in the 70s, it was just being in touch with your femininity. No, no, no. Metrosexual, to be fair, was a little bit like just actually caring about your hygiene a little bit. Like, oh, I trim my beard hairs. I do my hair. I brush my teeth.
But wasn't it also like guys starting to wear like base makeup and like you could wear a little bit of makeup and stuff like that? That was metrosexual, I thought. No. No.
Chapter 8: What humorous moments arise from the character dynamics in the episode?
The idea was just for straight men to actually care about what they look like. That's all the, and that's why the word went away is because once men started, it was like, there's no longer a hetero homo distinction. There's just looking good and taking care of yourself. There's just taking care of yourself. So that's why the word, the metrosexual just went away.
So the word, so the way to make yourself manly is by breaking your cheekbones with something hard. So they decided that like, all high testosterone things like broad shoulders, high cheekbones, chiseled jaw, you know, low body fat, like just that kind of stuff is insane. ultimately the most important part of being high on the evolution food chain. To be an alpha. To be an alpha.
And so these guys, there's all the lingo of this young, young generation. Mogging is to... to upstage someone with your beauty. So say we took a group picture, like Will or Ryder could be mogging the other one based on who looks more manly, like who's got broader shoulders, who's got sharper cheekbones. And these people who looks maxers take it extremely far.
Plastic surgery, hitting their- They're taking testosterone, they're hitting their face. They're like, yeah. Yes. having hair transplants if they don't like their hairline. The idea of what masculinity is is so ridiculous when it comes to stuff like this. So essentially, we've just gone back to Jersey Shore. A little bit. A little bit like Jersey Shore. Yeah. A little bit with that GTL.
Well, taking what you got to take. Gym tan laundry. It's just about how you look. Yeah. And, you know, it's the facial features and cutting down the body fat. We've gone back to just Jersey Shore. Okay. Next generation. Good luck for your kids. Well, the situation in this case is a guy named Clavicular. He's like the main guy who also may have... Clavicular?
That sounds like something you need to take a pill for. It's taken from his clavicle. He wants to have sharp clavicles. This is a thing? What? We're done. We're done. Guys. We're done. I'm moving to the woods. My biggest issue with it is that I read it and I was like... Oh, God. Adler doesn't know what a look smacker is. But Adler is like kind of. I love the show.
He really cares about what he looks like and like. Yeah. He cares about what he looks like. And he's like, I just want abs. I want it. I want to, I got to get, I got to get abs. He's six and a half. And he, anytime he comes, like he goes anywhere, even remotely home adjacent, his shirts immediately ripped off. And he's, and I'm like, why, why don't you have a shirt on?
And he's like, I just don't. I just like it. He's just like... Oh, man. Is he going to get a tribal henna? He plays... He would. He would. For sure he would. If he saw a guy with a big bicep and a tribal henna tattoo, if he saw it, he'd be like, I want that. The other day I said, he was like, so what do I have tomorrow? And it was Wednesday. And I know it was Tuesday. He was asking.
And so he was asking about Wednesday. And I said, you have tutoring. He has a reading tutor. And and he's like, oh, man, I don't care about reading. I don't care about math. All I want to be is strong and athletic. Just full set. It can't be that surprise. You guys watched wrestling with him since he was like two years. Sure. You could also take the theatricality about, about wrestling.
