All-Star Weekend Recap. James Boyd, Mike Chappell, and Don Fischer Join!

(00:00-25:25) – Query & Company opens on Presidents’ Day with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison sharing their experiences from All-Star weekend. They also touch on Purdue’s loss to Ohio State yesterday after being revealed as the top team in the NCAA Tournament by the committee in their projected seedings. They also touch on Indiana’s loss at home to Northwestern. (25:25-44:16) – Legendary IU play-by-play broadcast Don Fischer joins the show for his weekly hit on Query & Company to access a comment he made during the game about going on the floor and dancing, shares his frustrations with fans about the team seemingly not gelling this season, praises Trey Galloway for the job he’s done this season for the various roles that he’s had this season, and Jake gives Don a homework assignment for next week’s conversation. (44:16-51:26) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy opening up the phone lines for a question that Jake has for people regarding what state or city they identify from if they move like Abraham Lincoln did. (49:15-1:16:59) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook on a Monday to discuss the Michael Pittman Jr. contract situation that the Indianapolis Colts are in. States that he would be “beyond shocked” if the Colts don’t franchise tag Michael Pittman Jr. and predicts what price negotiations will start at if MPJ hits free agency because Chris Ballard doesn’t elect to use the franchise tag on him. Finally, he shares which president he would want to have a few beers. (1:16:59-1:32:50) – Jake pays off his tease from all show pertaining to his thoughts on how the All-Star weekend went. He and Jimmy both echoed the same sentiment pertaining to the game being boring. However, they share some other feelings about how things were handled around the city from an availability standpoint. (1:32:50-1:37:44) – The one o’clock hour concludes Jake and Jimmy taking one call from a listener sharing their experience during All-Star weekend and one caller weighing in on the debate earlier regarding Lincoln’s residency. (1:37:44-2:07:16) – The Athletic’s James Boyd makes his first of two appearances on the show to access the job Tyrese Haliburton did with representing the city of Indianapolis over the weekend, if he believes Bennedict Mathurin’s feelings towards Jaden Ivey were real or for show, his overall thoughts on the way the NBA handled All-Star  weekend, if there is a way for the NBA to improve the All-Star Game, and weighs in on the decision that the Colts have to make with Michael Pittman Jr. (2:07:16-2:21:43) – Jake and Jimmy spend some time focusing on the job Tyrese Haliburton did all weekend long representing the Indiana Pacers, state of Indiana, and the city of Indianapolis. They share some of their winners from the weekend and then Jake shares a nitpick from the All-Star game. Finally, they discuss how the NBA could improve the quality of the All-Star Game.
