Charlie Clifford and Brendan King recap Colts/Giants, preview Pacers/Raptors, and more!
02 Jan 2023
(00:00-27:00) – Charlie Clifford and Brendan King open up the first Midday Show of 2023 by recapping another disastrous performance by the Indianapolis Colts in their loss to the New York Giants, if Jeff Saturday’s candidacy to become the next head coach is still up for consideration, and if they envision the Indiana Pacers moving Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. (27:00-42:06) – Voice of the Indiana Hoosiers in Don Fischer joins Brendan and Charlie to break down if the long layoff for Mike Woodson’s team benefits them with the number of injuries they have going on, what he thinks Coach Woodson will do at the point guard position without Xavier Johnson, and if NIL money will impact future players decisions in staying in college versus going into the NBA Draft. (42:06-51:14) – Charlie and Brendan conclude the first hour of the show by discussing some of the players that they feel like that have played their way into a starting role or back onto the Colts roster for the 2023-2024 season. (51:14-1:17:57) – ISC Sports Network’s Greg Rakestraw joins Cliff and BK courtside from IUPUI to explain why the Colts may have to move up in the draft in order to get the quarterback they covet the most in the draft, the mismanagement of the Matt Ryan benching, and how thankful he is that the Indiana Pacers are exciting for the city to provide them hope. (1:17:57-1:32:49) – Brendan and Charlie shift their conversation back to the Indiana Pacers and debate on how they are becoming one of the more likable and exciting teams in the NBA and what position they could look at to bolster their young core if they’re looking to make a run in the playoffs. (1:32:49-1:38:21) – Cliff and BK go back to the news of Matt Ryan being announced as the backup quarterback to Sam Ehlinger on Sunday against the Houston Texans and wonder if Ryan could start anywhere next year in the NFL along with potential landing spots for the Tom Brady. (1:38:21-2:03:56) – Pacers sideline reporter for Bally Sports Indiana in Jeremiah Johnson joins Brendan and Charlie ahead of the Pacers game tonight against the Raptors to break down the new energy inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, what he took away most from the win over the Clippers, and if this team is one of the more connected teams he has seen in his ten years with the Indiana Pacers. (2:03:56-2:16:18) – Charlie and Brendan continue their discussion of the report of Jim Harbaugh being interested in taking a head coaching gig and if here were to be offered the Indianapolis Colts position, then would he accept? They also examine what Harbaugh could demand if he was in control. (2:16:18-2:23:53) – The final segment of today’s show is spent with Charlie, Brendan, and producer Eddie Garrison predicting where the Purdue Boilermakers will end up in the standings at the end of the year.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
