Query & Company
IU/Northwestern preview + Does the Big Ten need to bring back conferences?
22 Jan 2025
(00:00-22:55) – Query & Company opens on a hump day Wednesday with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook discussing last night’s loss for the Purdue Boilermakers against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Also, they discuss Butler almost pulling off an upset at Connecticut last night and ponder the idea of Dan Hurley becoming one of the most annoying/hated college basketball coaches with his sideline antics and comments. (22:55-38:06) – Play-by-Play broadcaster Brandon Gaudin joins Query & Company to preview tonight’s game for Indiana against Northwestern. Jake and Jimmy ask Brandon for his opinion on the future of Mike Woodson, labels Michigan as one of the best teams in the country at adapting from game-to-game on what it needs to do in order to win, the performance issues of east coast teams after playing on the west coast, and him putting together a one shining moment video during the pandemic. (38:06-46:38) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake and Jimmy by highlighting what some people have said about Lou Anarumo in the last couple of years, including a player that is still in action this weekend in the NFL. (46:38-1:08:50) – Earlier in the program, Jake and Jimmy were discussing the Purdue Boilermakers loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. They discuss one thing that they failed to mention during that conversation. It leads to a conversation about the future of the Big Ten when it comes to conference alignment and potentially going back to something the conference used to do. (1:08:50-1:23:51) – Yesterday the Indianapolis Colts made it official that Lou Anarumo will be the team’s next defensive coordinator. Who does it benefit? How is it beneficial to the Colts? Are the Bengals statistics underneath Anarumo indicative on him or the players he was working with? Jake and Jimmy discuss. (1:23:51-1:34:39) – Hour number two concludes with Jake and Jimmy discussing something that was brought up in the YouTube chat. Is Indiana still considered a blue blood program in college basketball? (1:34:39-1:57:52) – Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to discuss if he’s returning to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine solely for Taco Bell Cantina. He also identifies Lou Anarumo as the best hire this offseason, previews the upcoming AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, assesses Anthony Richardson’s decision to work with the same guy who changed Josh Allen’s mechanics, and admits that this upcoming season could be the last chance for Richardson to prove he belongs as in the NFL. (1:57:52-2:08:11) – Last week Jake did some researching trying to figure out if Colts fans would be reimbursed with the Colts losing a home game to go to Berlin next season. It leads to them wondering how the Pacers got selected to play in Paris tomorrow and Saturday. (2:11:31-2:18:22) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and JMV joining the guys in studio to preview his show!Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
