They start out the show by discussing the start of conference tournament week with Dane providing a coach’s perspective on how staff’s handle a tournament with quick turnarounds and which game is the most difficult for a team on a double-bye. (27:39-41:52) – Legendary voice of the Indiana Hoosiers in Don Fischer joins Jimmy and Dane following IU’s win over Michigan yesterday to give his perspective of the Hoosiers ahead of the Big Ten Tournament this week, why he likes the way the seeding for the Big Ten Tournament played out, and why the Iowa loss last week has him concerned about the Hoosiers going through the month of March. (41:52-46:21) – Hour number one concludes with Jimmy and Dane discussing a trend that Jimmy discovered with the last 22 NCAA Tournament Champions and asks Dane if it’s a narrative or if it’s a trend. (46:21-1:08:45) – Former college basketball coach and current ESPN College Basketball Analyst in Seth Greenberg joins the Fan Midday Show with Jimmy Cook and Dane Fife to identify the teams that he likes going into conference tournament week, what he needs to see from IU and Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament to regain confidence they can win the NCAA Tournament, and explains which conference has their teams set up the best to win the big dance. (1:08:45-1:22:09) – Jimmy and Dane continue their college basketball conversation following their discussion with Seth Greenberg and open the segment by sharing who they like along with producer Eddie Garrison to win the tournament. Plus, they all discuss some of the teams that are a fringe contender to win it all. (1:22:09-1:28:15) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Jimmy and Dane discussing the Peter King report that Bears GM Ryan Poles is seeking three first-round picks for the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. (1:28:15-1:51:40) – The final hour of today’s show starts with Tony East from Sports Illustrated Pacers, Forbes, and Locked On Pacers joins Jimmy and Dane to give his thoughts where the Pacers are right now in the Eastern Conference standings, what kind of players he thinks Indiana needs in order to become a title contender, and takes a look at Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino’s draft stock with the final month of the college basketball season coming. (1:51:40-2:04:05) – Jimmy, Dane, and producer Eddie Garrison shift their conversation back to the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs officially not franchise tagging left tackle Orlando Brown and debate if they need to make a move on Brown along with where they stand on drafting a quarterback this year.
