19 Dec 2023
(00:00-28:43) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the Indiana Pacers giving up 151 points to the LA Clippers, extending their losing streak to four games. They start discussing how the Pacers can improve their defense without slowing down their pace. (28:43-48:09) – Last night Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle was very frustrated with another poor defensive effort. He made comments last night that he walked back this morning on the Wake-Up Call with KB & Andy. Jake and Jimmy react to the comment he made last night along with him walking it back this morning. (48:09-54:13) – Hour one concludes with Jake going on a rant about the NFL and NBA scheduling games on Christmas day in the early afternoon. (48:50-1:25:28) – IU basketball and football beat writer, Zach Osterman, from the Indianapolis Star joins Jake and Jimmy on Query & Company to recap the players that Curt Cignetti has been able to bring back to Indiana and land through the transfer portal. Additionally, he explains how different sports allocate their NIL funds to players, listed some of the positives that he took away from Indiana’s loss to Kansas, and shares when he expects Xavier Johnson to return to action for Mike Woodson’s team. (1:25:28-1:40:47) – With Christmas nearing, Jake’s holiday spirit is picking up. On the spot he comes up with the concept of Santa Jake where he asks Jimmy and Eddie for a Christmas wish for their favorite team. This leads to Jake taking callers that ask for their Christmas wish. (1:40:47-1:46:10) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Santa Jake granting a few more Christmas requests from callers pertaining towards their favorite team. (1:46:10-2:12:45) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files and 1075thefan.com joins Query & Company to explain why he doesn’t feel like Paul George would fit the timeline or move back to Indianapolis. Also, he reveals the importance of the front office being in Orlando for the G League Invitational featuring Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker for Indiana, deciphers if the defensive performances against Boston and Milwaukee were outliers or if those performances is something that they can routinely achieve, and discusses the struggles of Tyrese Haliburton since the Los Angeles Lakers game. (2:12:45-2:28:41) – Pacers assistant coach Lloyd Pierce joins Jake and Jimmy on Query & Company this afternoon to promote his coat drive this afternoon at the Horizon House. Coach Pierce explained the importance of giving back to the community in his position, explains why this is one of his favorite teams to coach in his 17-year coaching career, and touched on how this team has learned a lot in the last three weeks. (2:28:41-2:36:16) – Today’s show ends with Jimmy sharing his JCook Plays of the Day, Eddie sharing two bets he likes, and JMV sharing his thoughts on the way the Pacers defended last night after saying he would be very disappointed if they laid an egg for taking 30 minutes from his show.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
