24 Jan 2024
(00:00-26:25) – Query & Company opens on a Wednesday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing Nikola Jokic spoiling the home debut for Pascal Siakam last night. Additionally, they talk about the hesitancy they saw with Siakam last night just because of the lack of time with his new teammates. Finally, Jake and Jimmy touch on the life that Ben Sheppard brought to Gainbridge Fieldhouse last night. (26:25-46:30) – James Boyd from The Athletic joins Query & Company to chat a little bit about the Colts and Pacers. Last night he was covering the Pacers and shares his opinion on if Pascal Siakam must adjust to the team or if the team needs to adjust to him and his thoughts on the game overall. Additionally, James shares what he is hearing right now regarding the health of Colts owner Jim Irsay, his thoughts on the way C.J. Stroud balled out for the Houston Texans this season, and what the off-season looks like for Anthony Richardson. (46:30-51:20) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy wondering what happened to Michigan this season because they are one of the worst teams in the Big Ten. (51:20-1:16:23) – Within the last couple days DePaul fired their men’s basketball coach and will be hiring one of their assistants as the interim head coach. Reports are circulating that former Indiana Hoosier manager Dusty May and current Indiana State Head Coach Josh Scherz will be candidates. Jake and Jimmy question what happened to DePaul’s basketball program. (1:16:23-1:32:50) – Yesterday the Milwaukee Bucks fired first-year head coach Adrian Griffin despite being second in the Eastern Conference. Jimmy explains all the odd events that happened last night regarding their head coaching position. It wasn’t finalized until today that Doc Rivers will become their head coach even though CNN Sports broke the news last night. (1:32:50-1:36:33) – The one o’clock hour concludes with the phones going haywire after Jake wanted listeners to call in and weigh in on a question he has. (1:36:33-1:58:08) – NFL Network’s Rhett Lewis joins Query & Company to break down some of the prospects that will be in the range that the Indianapolis Colts are drafting. Additionally, he believes that a team in the middle of the first round could get a generational tight end in Brock Bowers if he slips outside the top ten picks. Finally, he shares his perspective on the Indiana Hoosiers hiring Curt Cignetti. (1:58:08-2:22:29) – During one of the breaks earlier in the program, Eddie suggested that the guys group a pair of players into three categories for the Pacers. Jake, Jimmy and Eddie list which players they would take offers on, which players are untouchable, and which players they wouldn’t hesitate to throw into a trade. (2:22:29-2:28:10) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day, Eddie sharing a bet, JMV and Jake making fun of Eddie for his bet and figuring out the exchange rate for Australian currency!Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
