07 Mar 2023

Description

(00:00-28:21) – Jimmy Cook and Dane Fife open Tuesday’s show with IU’s star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis breaking down what led to his success during the conference season for Indiana, what has led to the ascension of Jalen Hood-Schifino over the course of the season, and what advice he’s sharing to his teammates that don’t have the win. Later, Jimmy and Dane discuss the latest mock draft from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler with the Indianapolis Colts trading up for the first overall pick to select C.J. Stroud and the Big Ten accolades were announced. (28:21-42:52) – Jimmy and Dane continue conversing about basketball but shift their conversation to the Indiana Pacers after losing last night to the Philadelphia 76ers 147-143 because Jimmy wants them to tank. They also weigh in on the possibility they would be able to move up a couple spots in the draft order.   (42:52-49:49) – Hour number one concludes with Jimmy and Dane discussing who they think can with the NCAA Tournament with conference tournaments being in full swing including the West Coast Conference Championship featuring Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s. (49:49-1:13:35) – Sports Illustrated’s Pat Forde makes an appearance on the Fan Midday Show featuring Jimmy Cook and Dane Fife to share his thoughts on the Big Ten Conference struggles, what North Carolina would need to do in order to make the NCAA Tournament and shares his favorite to win the tournament along with his dark horse candidate to win it all when the big dance starts. Additionally, Forde breaks down the NFL Draft when it comes to Anthony Richardson, the recent legal issues with Jalen Carter, and how Will Anderson did not perform to the expectations that Pat had him leading up to the season. (1:13:35-1:31:19) – Jimmy, Dane, and producer Eddie Garrison change the topic of discussion by transitioning to the NFL with the Seahawks signing Geno Smith to a three year deal, Derek Carr signing with the Saints for four years, and the uncertainty surrounding Lamar Jackson and Daniel Jones. They all discuss who has the biggest slice of the pie when it comes to who has say on the QB drafted for the Colts along with something that’s concerning with Shane Steichen’s background of different quarterback styles. (1:31:19-1:34:22) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Jimmy and Dane discussing how the Purdue Boilermakers can improve their ball screen defense with Zach Edey and how they can hide him on the defensive end from getting fouls during the postseason. (1:34:22-2:02:06) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, of CBS4 and FOX59 joins Jimmy and Dane on the Fan Midday Show to share his thoughts on the coaching staff that Shane Steichen put together, states that he would be “beyond stunned” if the Colts did NOT draft a quarterback in the first round, and if they would settle for a quarterback if they can’t come to an agreement with any of the three teams ahead of them in the draft to move up to secure the guy they want. (2:02:06-2:16:34) – Jimmy, Dane, and producer Eddie Garrison shift their conversation back to the NFL when looking at other positions that the Colts need to address when it comes to the draft or free agency with the Buccaneers releasing left tackle Donovan Smith. (2:16:34-2:23:04) – Jimmy, Dane, and Eddie conclude the show with the JCook Plays of the Day.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
