Why are the Colts bringing back Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen?

(00:00-25:37) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook recapping yesterday’s decision from Jim Irsay to retain Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard for another year. They spend the first segment of the show viewing this decision from Jim Irsay’s perspective and the fan’s perspective. (25:37-35:09) – The voice of the Indiana Hoosiers, Don Fischer, joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to share what it was like broadcasting from The Palestra, highlights some things that stood out in Indiana’s road victory against Penn State, credits Luke Goode for filling the leadership void the Hoosiers have been missing, and believes that Malik Reneau will be out for some time. (35:09-45:29) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake and Jimmy highlighting what DeForest Buckner said in his final media availability of the season. They speculate who Buckner was talking about when asked about why the defense struggled this season despite returning most of its starters.   (45:29-1:11:04) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Query & Company to opine on the decision Jim Irsay made to bring back Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen, expects that Gus Bradley will be relieved of his duties within the next couple of days, admits that Ballard and Steichen’s job are contingent on Anthony Richardson showing some progress next season, and states that the Ballard has got to add impact players in free agency to fill in the glaring holes that the roster has.
