Ragman’s Harbour

02 Of Scandals and Bastards

06 Dec 2023

Description

In our second episode, we dive into a variety of sex scandals and issues of inheritance, from our own world and ASOIAF. As we go along, we discuss what happens when royals have sex out of wedlock, but also what rights bastards have in various historical and cultural contexts. And much more. We want to give a brief apology for the audio quality in this episode. We had some issues when recording, that has since been identified and won't be a problem in future episodes. This is also the reason why this episode took a bit longer to come out. Thank you LittleWolfBird for helping us with audio engineering and making all sound as good as possible!   Thank you also to  Matt Graham for the theme music with sounds from zapsplat.com.   You can contact us at: [email protected] Twitter/X BlueSky   Sources and resources Lo: P3 Historia: Cecilia Vasa - Sveriges mesta skandalprinsessa P3 Historia: Erik XIV - Intriger, brodermord och skandalös kärlek P3 Historia: Karin Månsdotter - pigan som blev drottning av Sverige “Maidens, maidenheads, and the patriarchy - Virginity norms in ASOIAF” - Lo the Lynx  “Kungar, sex och skandaler - en studie av skvaller och journalistik” Mia-Marie Hammerlin & Lars-Eric Jönsson “A Brief Trans History” - Lo the Lynx “The queer stories of Fire and Blood - Lo the Lynx P3 Historia: Axel von Fersen - kärleksaffärer, revolutioner och en vrålande lynchmobb   Virginie: "Bâtard et fils a putain : du titre à l’insulte" - Dominique Lagorgette Épisode 16 - Marie-Lise et les bâtards de princes • PM (passionmedievistes.fr) Guillaume le Conquérant, le bâtard de Normandie, Paris, Belin 2014 | Gilduin Davy - Academia.edu Bâtards et bâtardises dans l’Europe médiévale et moderne - La perception des bâtards au xve siècle - Presses universitaires de Rennes (openedition.org) Jean de Bourgogne batard de Jean sans Peur | MAILLARD-LUYPAERT MONIQUE - Academia.edu « Humbert le Bâtard : un seigneur itinérant au service de son prince », dans L'itinérance des seigneurs, actes du Colloque international, éd.
