As a Major General, he raised and commanded a new Counter Terrorism Division of Assam Rifles to coordinate operations in three states of the North East.The General has also been a Commando Instructor as a Captain and Indian Defence Attaché in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos as a Colonel.
