Chapter 1: What is the new book mentioned and why is it significant?

1.212 - 21.924

Guys, my new book, How to Be a Capitalist Without Any Capital, just hit the Wall Street Journal bestseller list. It's ranking extremely high on Kindle and Audible. And I want to thank you guys for grabbing it. If you haven't bought it yet, here's what James Y. said in an Amazon review on March 8th. He said, literally, a step-by-step blueprint for conquering the world and building your own empire.

Five stars. It's a verified purchase. He goes on to say, if you like doing things the hard way, don't read this book. for everyone else who appreciates someone showing you what to do and why it works step-by-step so you can rinse and repeat and accomplish the same results. Read this book now in all caps.

He then says, pro tip, stock up on highlighters while you're adding this to your Amazon cart, you'll be using them. This book should be required reading for every entrepreneur, startup or founder, business person, and human. Seriously, Nathan isn't in a kind of class that cuts through all the bull crap, he used a different word, to show you what you need to do and how to do it.

If success came with an instruction manual, this book would be it. We'll be stocking up and handing these out as Christmas gifts to all my friends and colleagues. If I could give this book a six-star review, I would. From James, James, thank you. All you that listen to the podcast, thank you so much. SaaS founders are loving the book. Launched the company back in, let's see, launched back in 2015. Again, TCHOP. Think of it like a Google Drive, but add in like RSS feeds. It's not just files. It's more than that. So these teams are managing their things internally. They've got a team of 12 people. between Berlin and other remote locations, nearshoring, building the tool out.

93.418 - 101.647

Currently 15 customers paying about 2,300 bucks per month each. So doing about 34 grand per month in revenue. That's up from 10 grand per month about a year ago. So 3X year over year growth.

101.927 - 121.827

It's too early to talk about churn, CAC and LTV, things like that, but they're looking at scaling, hoping to do maybe a million dollar round on a $6 million pre-money valuation later this year or early next year. This is the Top Entrepreneurs Podcast where founders share how they started their companies and got filthy rich... or crash and burn.

123.41 - 145.564

Each episode features revenue numbers, customer counts, and other insider information that creates business news headlines. We went from a couple of hundred thousand dollars to 2.7 million. I had no money when I started the company. It was $160 million, which is the size of many IPOs. We're a bit strapped. We have like 22,000 customers.

146.033 - 161.072

With over 5 million downloads in a very short amount of time, major outlets like Inc. are calling us the fastest growing business show on iTunes. I'm your host, Nathan Latka, and here's today's episode. Hello, everybody. My guest today is

Chapter 2: What is Tchop and how does it function as a SaaS platform?

308.446 - 326.343

We are just like a lean layer where you can implement all different kinds of feeds into a very nice user experience. And it's very easy to hook up. And it's not covering all these things as an intranet because most of our clients already have something like an intranet, but it just sucks on mobile. Yeah, I mean, I use for this thing for our team, it's a small marketing team.

0

326.604 - 344.449

I mean, we just use Google Drive, right? So how, you know, we upload all this stuff there. So how are you different? We are not so much. We are very much focusing on news and content. We're not about dealing. If you're more focusing on files, then there's nothing else you need. And Google Drive, we're also using that. It's amazing.

344.469 - 364.651

But if it's about, let's say, you want to follow all the different news feeds, internal feeds, things from different sources, It's a bit like Feedly in the consumer market. In Feedly, you can also aggregate all kinds of sources, but it's difficult to distribute it then in a professional way. And in our case, you can really combine these things in a very, very easy and lean way.

364.711 - 386.006

So in a lot of cases, we have companies that have a very mobile workforce, and they are looking for something that lets them distribute up-to-date daily news about all different kinds of news to their workforce without limited resources. You can do it with very, very small resources because most other tools are very complex. So you need a big team and a long time to implement it.

386.367 - 403.168

So it's very lean and efficient. And so give me, I don't want to talk about every single customer cohort, but on average, what do customers pay for the platform? The platform, I know we have a very simple traditional, you know, whatever all the software service tools have. We have a price per customer, per price per invited user.

403.628 - 423.952

And usually it's somewhere between 50 cent and one euro, depending upon the amount of users. So if we have like we have customers that have like 15, 20,000 employees, so they pay roughly about, let's say, 10K euros per month. So this is something there. It's a very robust model. So what's an ICO? So just, I don't want to go at the seat level, but I don't want your biggest enterprise account.

423.972 - 431.602

On average, when a company joins you, is it like 10, like what's the average per month? Average, I would say it's between two and 5,000.

431.622 - 453.892

So we also have like the traditional mid-sized company, which we have lots of mid-sized companies in Europe and also especially Germany, which is like, you know, like still driven by the owner, two, 3,000 people, not even having an IT department, but having a mobile workforce. So Aiko, just to be clear, when a new logo joins you, on average, they might pay somewhere between €2,000 and €6,000.

454.493 - 476.952

Exactly. Something like that, yeah. Okay, got it. It starts with €1,000 minimum. So if you're a small team in a small company, we start with €1,000 per month. But that includes really iOS, Android apps in your style, look and feel, the back end. So you don't need to do any IT integration. One of the biggest arguments for these clients I totally get the platform.
