Fear of embarrassment can rob you of the very opportunities God has placed before you. Faith and fear both demand belief—one in God’s unseen promises, the other in worst-case assumptions. In the Parable of the Bags of Gold, we see how fear led one servant to hide his gift instead of investing it, ultimately losing his chance to please his master. The same is true for us—when we hide our God-given opportunities out of fear and shame, we miss out on His greater plans. Thanks for watching this episode! I would love to connect with you guys! Chapter 1: What is the main topic of this episode?
Hello, hello everyone and welcome back to Saved Not Soft. What's going on everybody? I hope you had a great, great week. We're going to hop into things on this little episode right here because I am so, so excited. We're going to be talking about fear.
We're going to be talking about when you're too scared to make a move and why you're actually operating in the disobedience of God when you're not going forth and doing the things right. of God. But before we go into the hot topic of what God wants us to dive into today, let me first introduce myself. My name is Emmy Moore. I'm the host of this podcast, Save Not Soft. What is Save Not Soft?
Save Not Soft is a podcast cultivated to let others know that they are heard, seen, and loved by God. And this is not a soft journey. It's hard. This is why the word says that it's not a wide gate. It's a narrow path, and it's not something that's necessarily easy. You will never see
jesus anywhere in the bible saying how this whole walk is easy if anything is going to come with trials and tribulations a lot of trial and error but we praise the lord because he is the one who perfects all of it he's the one who gives us grace he's the one who guides our footsteps and today's a really exciting episode because i get to speak about something what the lord's using me
to speak about something that I believe is incarcerating a lot of young people in Christianity today. And it's fear, and it's fear that steals opportunities, whether if God is calling you to a new height in business or a new height in
theology and what it means to grow intimacy with the Lord, or if it's going into college or stepping into a career or a relationship, if you're stepping into marriage, or if you're coming to a new church or a new city, whatever it may be, is that we're missing opportunities that God is wanting us to take advantage of and plant and take root in.
because of the spirit of fear and so i'm excited to speak about this today because fear is like one of those things to where we all kind of recognize we have it in some aspects but i feel like we fail to understand and acknowledge how much it's actually throwing us in prison and so it's a matter of telling fear whose boss it is which is the lords and in allowing not allowing fear to no longer overtake your life and so we're gonna pray and we're gonna get in
to it yep that's it let's close our eyes dear heavenly father we just thank you and praise you god god we just ask that your holy spirit fire comes through this episode father god i just ask that you use me as a vessel to correctly spread your gospel oh jesus god god i ask that through your parables and through your stories that your word alone is what impacts our hearts and also your presence god
First and foremost, God, we invite your presence into wherever we may be, whether if it's in a room or while we're getting ready to go to school or to work, or if we're in the car or whether if we're at the gym, whatever it may be, God, meet us where we're at right now, Father, and use this episode to speak directly to your children, God.

Chapter 2: How does fear of embarrassment affect opportunities?
He threw his, his ability to help and please his master at the expense of not being embarrassed. There it is. So how many of us in the Christian lifestyle are like that? You won't do the things of God and you won't do the scary thing that he's telling you to do at the expense of failing or feeling embarrassed or feeling in shame.
And so what God is showing us through the parable of the bags of gold is that nothing should get in the way of you doing the things of God, right? Why is it that this man was entrusted with five bags of gold and got back 10 more? Because this man put to work what the master had given him.
And he knew that in order to receive bigger things, he had to invest with the little things that were already given to him. And so a lot of people are praying for big things. They're praying for a house. They're praying for a family. They're praying for a business startup. They're
But God is giving you avenues and opportunities for him to trust you with the little, but you won't even take them because you're fearful of being embarrassed or failing. And then you wonder why you're not getting blessed. It's because you're not taking the opportunities that God has given you because you're deeply incarcerated by fear.
And so this is the dangers of fear is that ultimately it steals, kills, and destroys every single opportunity that God wants to give you because there's unbelief stored up in the depths of your heart. You have to know that if God has called you, he has called you. God does not lie. And God wants you to be like one of these servants who is entrusted with little so he could trust you with more.
So the question for you is, is how are you going to move forward in these opportunities in the fruitfulness of God and with the expectation of of fulfilling his will, even if it looks scary, obeying even when it don't look right, when it doesn't meet your expectation.
And even if it doesn't mean what you're seeing right now, like, are you going to press forward knowing that God said what he said and he called you? Because you want to know what also happens in this story? It says that the man who hid his treasure,
that he he had the same amount whenever whenever the master came back he left with one bag of golds and he came back with one back of gold one bag of golds and he said you know what i hit it because i was scared of you and i just know uh that that you're a harsh man so here is the same amount that you left me with and you want to know what the master did he said i'm actually gonna take away what i gave you and give it to somebody else who knows how to steward it better my god
What does that show us? If you're disobedient to the things of God, if you're not taking God-given opportunities, there's going to be a point in time where God is going to release you from that God-given opportunity and give it to somebody else. We see this all throughout the Bible. Moses, for an example, he was so... filled with his disobedience.
