Huge last hour. Thanks for your company. What we've got, we've still got in the gun and the agenda as well as your feedback. But right now, we do love getting the AFL CEO, Andrew Dillon, live in the studio. He's been good enough to do that for us this morning. Dills, thanks so much for joining us.
Great to be here, Cain.
We'll start with the non-goal last night for Logan Morris, Dills. Was it the wrong call?
Look, it's a question that we'll be looking at that today. The umpire was right behind the mark, Andrew Stevens, grand final umpire last year. So whether that was the right call or not will be reviewed today and we'll make that call. I think what you guys have been talking about this morning is about the rule.
And in the end, you can start off your mark, you can't improve your angle, but ultimately you have to get back to your mark. And ultimately, On the basis that Andrew Stevens didn't let it go through last night, his call would have been that he didn't make it back to the mark to kick over the man on the mark.
Deals, you're a football lover. You're sitting there in the stand watching our game. You cannot cop that being a non-goal. If this is a grand final after the siren... You can argue about his technique, but to me, he kicked over the mark. He did everything that you have asked him to do as a player in understanding the rule, and that's a non-goal. You cannot be comfortable with that, surely.
Well, I think one thing you said there, Cain, was he kicked over the mark. And that's the question, and that's the question that'll happen in the review. And you guys have played a lot more footy than I have, but if you don't kick over the man on the mark, it's an easier kick, no matter what you're trying to do. That's why players try and kick on the 45 and the rest of it. So...
As I said, I haven't got a definitive call on whether Andrew made the right decision in terms of whether he made it to the mark or not. But I think the rule's relatively clear. We went to the clubs on this 10 days ago. I think Sam Edmund was talking about it before.

Chapter 2: What was the controversy surrounding Logan Morris' non-goal call?
Showed vision of Noah Bolter from a few weeks back where he did that.
You said that the umpiring had never been better last time you were in. No, that was a couple of years ago. It might have been Swanee. It might have been Swanee. It might have been Swanee. We're having a lot of issues, a lot of small problems week on week on week. Are you frustrated?
No, I'm not frustrated, but what I... What I do know is that this is a game that everyone's passionate and everyone's searching for perfection. And our umpires are searching for perfection. And we've got – they work really hard, train hard. They go at about, on average, 90% in terms of decisional accuracy.
And so when you're paying 43 kicks a week and you're at 90%, that means there's three, four, or five mistakes per game. And that's what the umpires – and they know that, that they get – They don't get pats on the back for making the right calls. They get judged on their worst decisions or their mistakes. And they know that. And I get the stats every week. We haven't had a game at 100% yet.
We're always aiming for it, but we haven't got there yet. So I'm always trying to get better. But I understand that we're not perfect and the ups aren't perfect.
Do you personally like the look of the stand rule, Dills? Do you like it?
I like what it brings to the game. I think there are times where sometimes the players, when they call stand and they're not sure what they could do, and sometimes they freeze and they've got their back to the mark. There's things like that where I don't think that's a good look, but I think what it brings to the game...
The Swans maybe didn't quite get the forward handball game going last night, but when they're up and going, the stand rule brings that in because when you think back to those Richmond teams in 17-18 where they were unbelievable at defending and there was lots of vision, the way they could cut off that 45 angle, it really slowed the game down. So I think the intent of the stand rule's right.
I think when it's fully implemented, it's great, but there's parts of it that don't probably... look that good. But I think that the upsides of it are better than the downsides. The buyers have taken too long, haven't they? You're always on this one, Kingy. I'm not necessarily a buyer of that one.

Chapter 3: How does the stand rule affect gameplay in the AFL?
Enough said there. And does Greg Swan have a cashie limit? Is there an amount of cashies that he's allowed to do through a financial year? Because we're tracking him pretty hard. We think he's had a strong season. Greg's very popular. He's a great after-dinner speaker.
And one from me, the NFL game is great. I think it falls on the semifinal weekend. Deals is going to be on Friday morning. Clearly, are you worried about the turnaround getting the ground ready if you need the MCG on the Saturday?
Look, I think everyone's excited for the NFL to see what it's like on the MCG and get an incredible stadium that we're fortunate enough to play our grand final and all of our big games on the world stage. So a big tick for that. We've been working really closely with the NFL, Visa Victoria and the MCC.
What I have complete faith in is the staff of the MCC and our operational staff and the team at the NFL to get that turnaround. But there is also a reality. If we have two games on that weekend, there will be an impact on us. It's something we can work around, but it's something that we're really cognizant of.
Okay, last one from me. I know you're busy. When will we see a game played for premiership points in India?
Kane, I think that's a little way off, but I think there's exciting opportunities for us in India. It's right at the edges, but we feel that there's an opportunity. We've got 10,000 local Indians playing our game over there, and I think if we can get more people playing there, it's great.
They've built that from nothing on the back of volunteers, and we just want to help the volunteers there continue to grow. Best player in the comp? Is who? At the moment? The best player, I think, is Mark Spontanpelli. The one I love watching is The Wizard. Good answer.
Good answer. You better go draft that media release clarifying the decision last night, whether it was right or wrong. I bet you say it's right. It'll be reviewed objectively. I bet you you say that'll hit your inboxes to everyone listening very, very shortly. I appreciate you coming in. We know you're a baller now. We appreciate it. Thanks for having me on.
